Bloomsbury goes full Hermione, set to release two Harry Potter 'History of Magic' titles in the fall

It's been 20 years of Harry Potter, and the celebration keeps going. Bloomsbury, the books' U.K. publisher, announced in a business statement that this fall will mark the release of two new books about the wizarding world: Harry Potter: A History of Magic - The Book of The Exhibition, a book about subjects at Hogwarts, and Harry Potter - A Journey Through A History of Magic, which illuminates historical and cultural traditions of wizardry in Harry Potter.

The reason those titles are so clunky is because they're tied to the British Library's Harry Potter exhibitionA History of Magic, which opens October 20. The exhibition will look at the different subjects at Hogwarts (Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, etc.) and dive deep into the histories and inspirations behind these subjects.

Since the exhibition only runs through February 2018 in the U.K., the new books will make exhibition details accessible to hungry fans around the world. What is Ancient Runes, and why didn't Harry and Ron ever bother taking the class? Is Potions really that hard? What's the difference between a hex and a curse? Were all astronomers wizards?

Bloomsbury has yet to share an official press release, cover art, or exact dates for the titles, but they will release in October alongside the exhibition opening. It's unclear if or how J.K. Rowling is involved since the texts have historical context, but they will undoubtedly tempt the obsessive Potter fan.
