  1. If everyone dosen't want this to happen, go here https://www.change.org/p/youtube-say-no-to-flawed-age-verifications and sign the petition, as well as share it with as many people as you can while protesting to YouTube directly as well as on other social media platforms. We must fight back until we win.

    1. change petitions dont do anything. show your discontent with not using YT at all and ditching premium if you got it

    2. Good luck ditching Youtbe what alternative are there?.

    3. Uhhhh going outside? Fishing? Biking? Church? Walking? Should I Continue

  2. I just might have to cancel YouTube Premium and find another more free and private form of entertainment. Real shame cause I watch YouTube a lot and use YouTube Music a lot. If they keep pushing this nonsense I might drop YouTube TV as well. It's getting harder to find platforms that are just chill and fun for the sake of being chill and fun. Hopefully people will keep talking about this and pushing back until they work something else out that benefits us all.

  3. Boycott on the 13th. Don't use YouTube at all or try not to 🩷

  4. Yeah this is going well in the UK where kids are using Gary’s Mod to fool the AI.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's still going to know I'm 42 😂.

    ReplyDelete
  15. So we can show identification to make our account normal again, that’s ok. I watch things with my children at times so my viewing experience ranges in age from 4 to 45 with several different ages in between.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh my goodness, this is going to be interesting!!! 🤔

    ReplyDelete
  17. My niece looks young for her age and ai keep shutting her lives down. She's almost 18 but looks young. Its frustrating, her channels until the ai thinks shes 12.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Doesn’t everyone have a teenage viewing habit ? 😂

    ReplyDelete
  19. Just use a vpn and forget about it lol. No age checks for me no sending my licence to some sketchy third-party ID check company that retains info in you for a certain reason digital ID china style credit system. Own nothing and be happy

    ReplyDelete
  20. Youtube's limits contents but not the numerous mind numbing lousy quality game adverts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This issue I have here in the US is the freedom to choose. As a parent if I choose to let my 10 year old or teen watch something that a machine says they shouldn't, I should be able to over ride it. Otherwise we are just letting AI make these choices for us and our parental rights go out the window.

    ReplyDelete

    1. you think you have freedom? good joke

    ReplyDelete
  24. SPREAD THE WORD I'M GOING TO BOYCOTT YOUTUBE FOR THIS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. something I recognize that is probably going to be very stupid (yet is very. VERY true for this):

taken (Copypasted-) from a YT comment:
"Based on the content they watch"
Soooo.... AI will detect children that watch cartoons but children that actually watch NSFW content will slip by.

    WHO GREENLIGHTED THIS?!

well... Despite all this, AT this point why use a YT account to watch YT?, why bother with them if they will actively put restrictions on accounts they deem "Doesn't match birthday on account". It aint boycotting no but... Its the best we got if you dont like YT but still want to support creators on the platform. (Wont work for all though Unfortunately)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Never thought this would happen, im going to need a burner to watch Bluey......

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, it looks good to me. I hope Redditors who've been showing double standards experience the consequences right in front of their faces and never make that mistake again.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I saw some videos saying that YouTube cancelled the ai Ag verification thing I don’t know the veracity of these videos but I wanted to share this with you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ok, bye YouTube 🤘

    ReplyDelete
  30. To the people that are quitting or say they’re going to stop watching.

You’re not going to do anything to help. You’re just quitting.

A few thousand people are leaving? Statistically that’s barely a dent to YT’s numbers..

According to Global Media Insight: https://www.globalmediainsight.com/blog/youtube-users-statistics/

YouTube has 2.70 Billion users per month, with 122 million people watching daily.

Now there are 3.6k upvotes on this post. If every person who upvoted cancelled YouTube or stopped watching.

That would only be 0.00013% of YouTube’s monthly users. Or 0.00295% daily users.

Basically nothing. Now I’m just taking this Reddit post into account. But say there’s like maybe 80k people who stop YouTube… even that isn’t doing much.

80k out of 2.7 billion monthly users is about 0.003%

If you’re really against this, something more than just “quitting” YouTube needs to be done.

Quitting is easy and guess what? It’s also easy for YT to ignore.

YouTube isn’t the true villain here and neither is AI. It’s the government doing this. Start going after lawmakers, petitions, protests, get your favorite content creator involved, the bigger their subscription pool the better.

Mobilize with EFF, Fight for the Future, etc

Call or email your representatives to oppose KOSA and any other federal age-checking mandate. Tell your state lawmakers, wherever you are, to oppose age verification laws. Make your voice heard online, and talk to your friends and family.

If you’re not willing to risk yourself or fight for your freedom, you didn't deserve it in the first place.

Did Rosa Parks quit riding the bus? No she SAT on that bus despite it all.

Did Susan B. Anthony stop trying to vote when they told her she couldn’t? No! She was arrested and ridiculed and still persevered!

    Edit: fixed issues

  31. You tube is ridiculously censored already. Watch your damn kids

    ReplyDelete
  32. idk if it is related to the AI detection because it shouldn't be rolled out yet, but my ads are now no longer targeted for protection or smt so now I get AI p-rn ads

    ReplyDelete
  33. How dare they make me read a book

    ReplyDelete
  34. We need to collectively shut this down. Google will 100% expand this to all their services for EVERYONE. Everyone needs to know how dangerous of a move this is. Its about connecting all your online social presence to your govt ID. We're living in an age of the govt arresting you for OPINIONS. We cant be having age verification.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Goddamn clankers are verifying our ages to watch safe videos

    ReplyDelete
  36. Currently enjoying my last week on YouTube rn

    ReplyDelete
  37. Splendid! The perfect opportunity to never use YouTube literally ever again!

    ReplyDelete
  38. You all remember the day when you no longer needed to fake your age?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Watch me drop YT so fast

    ReplyDelete
  40. Google thought YouTube lost money before this, No amount of forced advertisement upon existing customers will keep their service viable to continue.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My gmail account has the same age of the people that watch the videos I watch.
I wonder how AI will resolve this.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Fake ID market is about to get big

    ReplyDelete
  43. Using ai to ban ai. 🙄🙄🙄

    ReplyDelete
  44. What even needs to be age verified? If a vid has 1 cuss word? Halk naked humans? What is the litmus for this even? I don't think I watch anything crazy enough to warrant this ever happening.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Guess Usenet will be making a comeback.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lol, better find a discount code for Nebula now…

    ReplyDelete
  47. My account is older than most children on it.

I better be fucking exempt from it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I will NOT be doing this. I can live without YouTube.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hey YT, that will be a strong cancel my account from me. You too Bezos.

    ReplyDelete
  50. But why? YouTube is already so heavily censored to the point of people blanking out words like "death" and shit. I hate what the internet is becoming

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'd with that they stop censoring so much content, I'm on board

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well i wanted to buy death stranding 2 anyways

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but... the government already has all our IDs and Emails etc most likely... buy something off ebay? Use the same email for YouTube? Buy something off Google play, Amazon, any big corp? Use your credit card or PayPal that have your real name linked to it with one of those emails etc, have a social security number? All of its out there already unless you were just barely using the internet. BUT WITH INCOGNI YOU CAN WIPE YOUR DATA OFF THE NET FOR A LOW LOW PRICE OF 9.99 A MONTH USING CODE "WEREWATCHINGYOUWANK" THOSE PESKY DATA BROKERS WONT KNOW WHAT HIT THEM!!! anyway yeah, its all already out there...

  54. just wait until you pay for internet zones, youtube and social media package!

sign up with your passport id and get an extra month!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I’ll delete the app the second they ask for ID. Everything I use it for can be found elsewhere.

  56. As an almost 50 year old man... this will flag me as a toddler XD

    ReplyDelete
  57. Fuck man, this one is gonna hurt. I've been using YouTube nonstop for 18 years. It's one of my main sources of joy and comfort, but I might have to stop using it. Luckily, I've been downloading a bunch of my favorite videos.

    ReplyDelete
  58. As I am now 66, and I have been using YouTube since about 2006... I really would like it to identify me as a teenager!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I will sooner go back to Stone Age than give any service a copy of my id.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah websites are just going to do it automatically behind the scenes and bury the details in the fine print of their TOS, eliminating the chance to passively opt out.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh look, the people saying "they're going to use the robots to profile you" were right the whole time.

    I hate this planet.

    ReplyDelete

  64. My main issue with this whole debacle is that hackers could easily hijack this to take your information. It's really not even hard when you think about it. I should have a right to privacy. That information is mine and no one else's. I'm so tired of all this BS. Privacy should be an inalienable right. Where do companies and the government get off telling me that I need to upload my ID, SSN, etc just to play a video game or watch YouTube?

    ReplyDelete
  65. My Gmail account was a beta (a now meaningless term) test

It can also buy bottom shelf liquor without shame.

    ReplyDelete
  66. This is good if it works.

Bad if it works like Instagram - which has been incorrectly flagging normal people for CP for weeks now - to the point that the Korean government had to get involved!

    ReplyDelete
  67. They can't do some simple fucking math? If the minimum age to register an account is 13, and that account is more than five years old, how old is that user likely to be?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Bummer. I guess this is the end of my YT usage. What little of it i used anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  69. You’ll have to watch an AD to verify your age and then watch an AD to get back to your video.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Videos of home maintenance are about to skyrocket.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Fark is going the same direction. No one under the age of 60 is going to be allowed to post.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Sigh. Google is my phone and main email provider. I guess I should back up EVERYTHING now offline pending them cutting off service for some bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Im guessing people buying permium wont be affected :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I’ve been on YouTube for 20 years. I think illl check out. It was 2005 when I joined

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  76. We about to all be reading books by candlelight in protest of all these AI companies.

    ReplyDelete
  77. oh noes, I’m not going to be able to access millions of random bs videos, spam, ads, ai-generated crap and content-created shit. whatever will i do with my life from now on?!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Get bent. There is no way on earth i would give up my ID to watch a YouTube video. I must admit I find it mildly hilarious that you can probably trick the ai by adult Maxxing your content. Throw on some videos about the economy and news articles about the stock market.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Our AI couldn't verify your age, please give us your ID so we can 'share' it to a third-party for verification. Oh, you don't want to? Fuck off, then.

    ReplyDelete
  80. This means we can uncensor YouTube videos now right? Right?

    ReplyDelete
  81. If YT decides I'm not of age and asks me to upload my government I.D., I guess I'm watching YouTube Kids from then on.

    ReplyDelete
  82. And here I am watching a bunch of Loony tunes and sponge Bob....

    ReplyDelete
  83. I opened my Gmail account back when you need to be invited by a fried that already had a Google account.
