DOGE is over?
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is no more. The initiative has been quietly dissolved since the departure of de facto leader Elon Musk in May, coming to an end over seven months earlier than scheduled.

Reuters reports that Office of Personnel Management (OPM) director Scott Kupor confirmed DOGE's demise earlier this month, stating that it "doesn't exist" and is no longer a "centralised agency." Many of DOGE's functions have instead been taken over by OPM, as per documents sighted by Reuters. OPM is the U.S. federal government's human resources agency and personnel policy manager.
Kupor appeared to criticise Reuters' article on X, while simultaneously confirming its veracity. DOGE as an organisation is indeed dead, though Kupor stressed that its "principles" continue to persist.

"The truth is: DOGE may not have centralized leadership under [the U.S. DOGE Service, previously known as the U.S. Digital Service]," wrote Kupor. "But, the principles of DOGE remain alive and well: de-regulation; eliminating fraud, waste and abuse; re-shaping the federal workforce; making efficiency a first-class citizen; etc. DOGE catalyzed these changes; the agencies along with [OPM] and [the White House Office of Management and Budget] will institutionalize them!"
White House official Amy Gleason was DOGE's acting administrator, technically holding the position even as Musk operated as its de facto head. As of writing, her LinkedIn page still lists her role at DOGE as ongoing.
Officially launched in one of the first acts of President Donald Trump's second term, DOGE's purported purpose was to increase government efficiency by cutting costs. This predominantly translated to cutting jobs, with DOGE laying off approximately 280,000 federal workers by April. Multiple government agencies were thrown into chaos, with some shut down or dismantled entirely.
Yet despite this turmoil, the widespread upheaval failed to reap the benefits promised. While Musk had claimed DOGE's actions would save the U.S. government at least $2 trillion, by April he'd revised this goal down to $150 billion. Unfortunately, even this seems to have been an overshot, with DOGE's actual savings reportedly a mere fraction of this fraction. Hundreds of fired federal employees have since been asked to return.
DOGE was initially scheduled to conclude its work on July 4 next year, 18 months after its inception. However, DOGE's activity stalled after Musk departed in May, the billionaire leaving amidst a public falling out with Trump. The organisation fractured in the aftermath, Musk's departure apparently leaving DOGE's staff of recent college graduates and Musk loyalists without unifying direction. Now it seems DOGE has finally dissolved entirely.

Are we actually surprised by this? It was a clown show on day 1
ReplyDelete🎭🍿🇺🇲
ReplyDeleteDOGE may be dead, but we've been badly mangled by their BS.
ReplyDeleteThey just announced new cuts yesterday… I suspect this reporting on their demise is premature.
ReplyDeletePopup shop for national gutting and private theft.
ReplyDeletehttps://media1.tenor.co/m/iRIlqG9MyfYAAAAC/good-riddance-rip-wheeler.gif?
ReplyDeleteThey have your personal data. That's what they wanted.
ReplyDeletetill it's not!!!
ReplyDeleteTrump loves people like you.
Deleteyou poorly educated moron.
DeleteExcept that some of his buddies are in possession of all our personal information.
ReplyDeleteare you afraid they'll blackmail you?
DeleteI suspect my private information is for sale
DeleteDOGE educated those that needed to be. Their work is done, however their legacy continues on. Amen.
ReplyDeleteThey already stole all the data they wanted, which is pretty much stored in a foreign country.
ReplyDeleteBots auditing with... did a great job.
ReplyDeleteIt's done its job. It gave Elon the chance to run around as camp as possible with a chainsaw, steal data, kill thousands of malnourished kids, and allow China to take the Soft Power initiative in the vacuum. And the biggy, Cause Chaos and Distraction while the Trump Admin smashed up the democratic guardrails.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats are celebrating. Let the money-laundering resume.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right bro👍..."Corruption destroy nations".
DeleteWhere are the DOGE checks?
ReplyDeleteAfter its lasting damage
ReplyDeleteyes, the democrat party is broke
DeleteSome might say DOGE (Musk, specifically) accomplished its mission early on: Data mining millions of Americans' personal information. There is no need for it to exist any longer.
ReplyDeleteAnd robbing the public coffers, but that's all the conservatives in this country can ever accomplish when they are elected.
DeleteThat's exactly what it was for. He got what he needed.
DeleteAnd shutting down all investigations into Musk's businesses. USAID was targeted for investigating Starlink contracts. Grok reports DOGE shut down or stalled 30 investigations into Musk's businesses, saving Musk $2.37B.
DeleteThey’re shutting down early to cover their tracks before impeachment and treason trials start after the midterms. That’s the next ten years of this country.
ReplyDeleteIt’s the perfection of typical Republican tactics. Mess up the country so bad that the next dem administration spends all its time cleaning up instead of making progress.
i will believe that the Dems will push for full accountability after I see it. I still remember The past 2 Dem administrations that utterly failed to do what you're predicting.
DeleteIt depends. The current Dems in charge of the party? No. The new wave that’s angry at Trump and is running in the midterms? Possibly
DeleteObama literally dragged this country from the brink, but sure, go ahead and both-sides this...
DeleteBrink of what? Holding Dubya’s admin accountable for lying about the GWOT? The brink of closing Gitmo?
DeleteBush drove us into the worst depression since the Great Depression. How all your memories are so short. I didn't get a raise for 5 years because of the collapse.
DeleteThe upcoming AI bubble pop will make sure the plebs don't get another raise for another 5 years
DeleteStop talking about impeachment. It never works. There is exactly zero chance of removing Trump from office via the impeachment process. This has nothing to do with the flaws or virtues of the Democrats and everything to do with our antiquated Constitution.
Delete"Treason trials" are also not happening. Treason is defined as aiding a foreign power that the US is at war with, not generically betraying the Republic.
lol, impeachment and treason? The dems have shown that they’re a bunch of soft-bellied cowards who write strongly worded letters instead of fighting literal fascists. Nothing’s going to happen.
DeleteThey impeached him twice. You've never done anything but kneecap what you claim is your own side. LOL
Delete…and what did the impeachments achieve? Oh yeah.
DeleteWTF have you done? What should be done? Clownass.
DeleteAre you having a stroke?
DeleteLooks like impeachment doesn't mean shit huh
DeleteDon't sit on your hands tough guy, lead the way! LOL! Give us the answers, Clown.
DeleteThe damage is done, at least a generation will suffer from our pull back.
ReplyDeleteYou have to go back to Europe in 1939 to see that much damage being done that fast.
DeleteThe largest data breach on our history is now complete I guess
ReplyDeleteso far.... yeah. they certainly left backdoors for others to find. we'll never be rid of it unless we build an entirely new system. the security of everything they touched is suspect now. at least by competent folks, not conservatives.
DeleteIs it really a breach when they were invited in? I mean, Elon paid a quarter mill for that data.

ReplyDelete“I’m going to stage my own beating for Tik Tok”
ReplyDeletenot dead, metastasised. the majority of its staff all are in various highly paid, highly placed non political roles that will let them stay on far into the future
ReplyDeleteFEMA was months away from rolling out a new procurement and contract management system that would have actually greatly assisted DOGE in identifying duplicative and otherwise possibly wasteful contracts.
ReplyDeleteInstead DOGE killed the new management system development and roll-out.
I mean, of course it is. It doesn't take long to dismantle a significant chunk of the government when that's all you care about getting done. That's the disparity that the Republican party has been using for decades to make the government look inept and wasteful. Because it took years to build the Twin Towers. And only a few hours to completely demolish them...and thousands of lives.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, comparing Republican assaults on the US government to a terrorist attack is very intentional. Not my fault that it's a fair comparison. After all, who's using ICE to --gleefully-- conduct terrorist attacks across the country? That's right -- Republicans.
What's that? You don't like being labeled a terrorist? Then stop voting for and supporting Republicans.
It's a recursion thing. DOGE had to close DOGE because it's an inefficient and wasteful program
ReplyDeleteDOGE was stillborn from the beginning. The only thing it did was waste time and money, the exact thing it was trying to improve.
ReplyDeleteCan you say smokescreen?
it was always a con job.
DeleteThis is The Phantoms appointed guardian, please do not feed The Phantom.
ReplyDeleteFill me up stooges! Every hole is a goal! 🤡

DeleteBiggest american personal information heist carried out on american soil commited by a foreign born imigrant..now they walk off into the sunset... SMH
ReplyDeleteLarge scale data breaches don’t just expose vulnerabilities they often create the political justification for major restructuring. Historically, governments use crises to accelerate modernization that would normally take decades.
ReplyDeleteThe pattern usually looks like this:
1. The incident creates political justification.
Public fear, media pressure, and loss of trust force leaders to look like they’re acting decisively.
2. Advanced AI makes technical transformation feasible. (new tool makes new things possible)
Once the correct AI tools exist, refactoring legacy identity systems becomes a same year possibility, not a decades long modernization cycle.
3. Fast moving administrations accelerate the rollout.
Executive driven modernization bypasses old slow bureaucratic layers, especially when framed as an emergency response.
4. The identity system gets rebuilt whether people like it or not.
Governments act first to stabilize the system, and the debate happens after the fact.
Now the only question remaining is, Why?
Let us know when everybody involved in DOGE is dead.
ReplyDeletenobody yet, but here's to hopin!
DeleteIt never needed to exist in the first place
ReplyDeleteGuys, I'm starting to think he guys who campaign on giving money to the wealthy because the government doesn't work have no vested interest in creating a working government.
ReplyDeleteThe closure and drastic funding cuts to USAID implemented by DOGE are estimated to cause over 14 million additional deaths worldwide by 2030. This includes around 4.5 million children under the age of five.
ReplyDeleteElon Musk - "Mission accomplished!"
He'll replenish the planet with his own special sauce.
DeleteThanks for finally agreeing that cutting government programs can be a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll get your $5,000 DOGE check any day now! And then that $2,000 tariff check will be coming right after!
DeleteThe important thing is the negative attention he gets from random strangers on the Internet.
DeleteThis, I'm told, is a mark of online "masculinity" or something.
Don't forget Nega-clout .... that's actual currency in the cryptodouche world.
DeleteI'm sure he'll rush off to buy some primo swamp land in Florida for development with said checks right after he's cashed them.
Deleteto cover the extra 25k in cost of living expenses.
DeleteAbsolutely! Abolishing ICE would save tens of billions!
DeleteThanks for admitting that DOGE needed to be cut, mighty brave of you.
Deletehyuvk hyuck your fly over state must suck to live in.

DeleteHe lives in Moscow.
DeleteYour mind is a fly over state. 😀🙂😍😘
DeleteThe coast sucks, Moe.
DeleteAirBNB is a disgusting piece of shit from a disgusting piece of shit and you're a disgusting piece of shit if you use it. Fuck AirBNB, fuck it to hell.
ReplyDeletei guess this proves it once and for all.
ReplyDeleteit's totally impossible to cut costs at the federal govt.
If Trump killed DOGE then that would mean they found something Trump didn’t want them to find, because we know he wouldn’t kill a program because it wasn’t effective.
ReplyDeleteAll government fraud is gone! 🤡
ReplyDeleteGo Musk! He brought it home early saving tax payers millions! More proof that a Musk promise is a Guaranteed Promise! 💪💪💪🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷💶💶💶

DeleteLOL 🤡
DeleteWE know all about the gay phantoms but everyone is welcome.
DeleteIt's dead?! But it was doing such a good job! Did Kristi Noem shoot it?!
ReplyDeleteDamn I thought you meant Elon
ReplyDeleteHow many backdoors have to be installed before they are considered front doors?
ReplyDeleteI would like to hear some of those passionate DOGE supporters what's their take on it now that the grift is done
ReplyDeleteExcellent. They now have three whole years grace under the Trump regime, that's three years of getting used to the idea they got away with it. But once Trump is kicked out the White House and the Dems are in power, Musk and his little DOGE goblins are going to be subjected to all manner of subpoena and enforcement letters from every corner: inspectors general, DOJ, treasury, oversight committees, homeland security and even agencies themselves such as USAID will all be wanting their pound of flesh. It'll be a non-stop torrent of legal to and fro.
ReplyDeleteBy the time the dust settles and fines and/or prison terms are being handed out, 'big balls' will be so old, they'll be hanging next to his knees.
That is a nice dream, man.
DeleteBut there is no way any of this goes beyond a showy senate hearing, if that, and the dems going "(shrug) what can you do?"
Partnership for Public Service and PSI put the "savings to taxpayers" at - $135–$217 billion.
ReplyDeleteThe most eye popping line in the bill to me is the $21.7 in Direct Operational Expenses!! WTF??
Grok reports: Total taxpayer funds "burned through" per a Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) probe, including $50 million in DOGE's internal costs (e.g., staffing, tech). Early funding alone reached $7 million in one week for "expenses."
This is my favorite Grokism on this subject: DOGE's activities included mass firings, contract cancellations, asset sales, and audits, but these often backfired due to poor planning, legal challenges, and operational chaos.
on the bright side, muggings are going to be up!
ReplyDeleteWhy? are you out on parole?
DeleteAre you on the rubber dolly- the one that is anatomically incorrect? 😆😁🤣😂
DeleteNah, I just use your mom, like everyone else.
DeleteBut the country isn't quite destroyed yet! Ah man, this is worse than when the Doobie Brothers broke up!
ReplyDeleteThe government still exists and still sucks, so no, DOGE did not complete its mission.
ReplyDeletemaybe your government sucks (and it does), but when mine is in charge, we get shit done for folks.
DeleteWhat you going do wen a SCAM blows up on YOU... MOVE-ON to your next SCAM!
ReplyDeleteDide Kristie Noeme shoote the DOGE againe?
ReplyDelete/s
What did it actually save? Nothing!!! Like its major supporter, it did in NOW without considering future benefits or consequences. He did it with a chain saw, which he proudly brandished, and should have used a scalpel. It was supposed to take out the fat but leave the rest of the meat intact. It only made a mess of things, and caused chaos.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a Federal Program, Agency, or employee Democrats will end, or claim is not necessary.
ReplyDeletethe irony of course being that republicans believe nothing is necessary because privatization of everything to bring about corporatist dystopia is their end goal
DeleteThere is accountability in the private sector. And yes... Success is the ultimate reward.
DeleteTheres no more accountability than in the public sector, and for this lack of advantage all we reap is a sharp decrease in the quality of service and steep increase in cost
DeleteLining billionaire's pockets is the ultimate "reward", too bad they keep to themselves & shun the average worker.
DeleteEwe mean they earn their wealth and take many risks to do so.
Deletehahahaha...oh wait you're serious
DeleteIt is very much alive! They are going after the worthless bought and paid for news media next!!
ReplyDeleteYep, the media is the problem. Not the Grifter-in-Chief, right?
DeleteThe grifter in chief lost the election.
DeleteTrump Bible, Trump Mobile, Trump Bitcoin, Trump NFTs, Trump Sneakers, Trump Guitar. We all know who the grifter is.
DeleteYes back in 2020. His buddy Elon bought this one for him, lock stock & grift.
DeleteBut 10% went to "the Big Guy", the senile president.
DeleteAre we still getting the $5000 DOGE checks before Christmas? Asking for a friend.
ReplyDeleteDoge is dead? thats great! Wheres its grave, ill be drinking lots of water today to prepare.
ReplyDeleteAll it was is confusion and revenge
ReplyDeleteBiden grew the bloated Federal Government by 6%.
ReplyDeleteBiden pulled the U.S. economy out of the post COVID slump to the envy of the rest of the financial globe.
DeleteBy fattening the Government.. That is why inflation was 10% under Biden.
Deleteit actually cost us more, time is money, total con job by the president and gang. not count the money being spent on the WH, plans, ICE, bonuses, national guards, etc.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget the absconding of ALL taxpayer records & related data by Musk's team of hackers.
DeleteAll the slogans, the hype, the promises…
ReplyDeleteWhen Americans look back on the Trump/MAGA era, they’ll see it as a movement built on manipulation, indoctrination, denial, and deception.
Let’s just hope we’re all still around to reflect on it, because there’s a real chance Trump could drag us all down with him when he falls—like a Jim Jones reenactment, only with nukes instead of arsenic-laced Kool-Aid.
Project 2025...Promises made. Promises kelp: The middle class is no more. The black middle class was targeted with precision and accuracy by Project 2025. Target destroyed and we are now closer to the MAGA goal of separate but, so-called equal society.
ReplyDeletei think they really just want the separate part,
DeleteFake news
DeleteProve otherwise
DeleteAnother failed Trump program. His tariff plan to replace the tax revenue from his Billionaire and Big Corporation tax cuts has also failed. He is already rolling back tariffs because it has done nothing but increase the cost for U.S. companies and U.S. consumers.
ReplyDeleteFrom the article: "DOGE pledged a $1 trillion overhaul of the federal government, but in the end delivered a fraction of this while disrupting key government operations".
ReplyDelete- That sums up the entire Trump administration.
I would LOVE to see the ACTUAL "NET" SAVINGS - because if you subtract all the garbage it caused - I would almost bet we lost money....
ReplyDeleteThey sent in a man who knew absolutely nothing about the American Government, how it is set up, what it controls - and he and his "19-21 year old musketeers" went in and slashed and cut and burned departments because they had the power (that they should not have had!!! )
ReplyDeleteThey even had to re-hire so many people - especially the Nuclear Teams!!! What a completely As-inine thing for any person with the intelligence over a 2nd grader to do.
End result for Americans who are not Millionaires or Billionaires: Higher unemployment, reduced benefits, reduced assistance for our Vet's, children and disabled, - stock market turmoil- courts overrun with lawsuits -and this was just the beginning.
so.. end result - horrifying.
Excellently so true. Prime example. The USA had the distinction of being a nation that fought for worker's rights. As soon as that became a burden, they sent corporations scouring the planet for cheap labor and raw materials, willing to exploit anywhere they can. Until we realize that EVERYONE deserves to be treated equally let alone fairly, we have very far to go. I ought you to follow the best approach to acquire all the more paying little heed to the current market (bullish or bearish), which is exchanging. Purchase the plunge and exchange. ReplyDeleteD.C BUNCH OF MONEY THIEVES.
ReplyDeleteTrump and Musk murdered over 300,000 people in Africa by cutting USAID.
ReplyDeleteThe world's poorest and sickest.
Shameful.

Oh this was never about saving money. This was about Trump's current coup attempt. Why isn't anyone asking what happened to all the personal data they stole and will be using against Americans?
ReplyDeleteIt saved Trump from having any validity as a leader
ReplyDeleteYeah Trump wasn't interested in cutting that much so he fired them.
ReplyDeleteIt saved nothing. It destroyed the effectiveness of everything it touched and did so in such a random and thoughtless manner that anything not spent because of DOGE is going to require more to fix. Like so many other things, it creates muddy water, but in the end does not achieve anything.
ReplyDeletenot a darn thing. Pound foolish Penny wise as the old saying goes. Pure intimidation from the entire Trump gang
ReplyDeleteall created to cause mass chaos and to cause distrust!
ReplyDeleteall created to cause mass chaos and to cause distrust! Inflated BS!
ReplyDeleteProbably cost more than it saved.
ReplyDelete1 trillion is still a lot of money.
