Elon Musk wants a SpaceX IPO of $1.75 trillion. To get there, he got the rules changed so that index funds, with millions of American's retirement savings, are forced to buy in. Regular people will take huge losses, while insiders cash out. But there is a way for us regular people to fight back. By submit your feedback to the S&P about this rule change at this link by the end of today May 28: https://www.spglobal.com/spdji/en/governance/consultations/mr4292/
This is part of the reason the 401k was introduced in the first place. Why guarantee a payout with a pension when you can guarantee payment into the stock market instead.
1. Executive bonuses are a tax write off for the company 2. There are no taxes on the bonuses the CEO gets (as options) until they sell the shares, which they never do, just leverage them for low interest debt.
Exactly this is some blatant corrupt shit that's just right out in the open. Why are they continuing to hand Elon billions of dollars and give him so much influence? The valuation of a not profitable company is obviously way overblown. It's a bad investment and a grift, yet everyone's retirement funds will now be forced to fund it which will lead to Elon becoming the first trillionaire?
Commonwealth Bank Australia email yesterday… “We are writing to inform you of the potential upcoming initial public offering of Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (“SpaceX”) Class A Common Stock (“IPO”) that may become accessible through Commonwealth Securities Limited (“CommSec”)….”
Leave this loser alone. You don’t have to buy or invest in his crap. You should actually not invest at all! Live your life peacefully a day at the time. We don’t have much time left
Look closely ya'll. That's the face of the man who indirectly killed over 200,000 children from preventable disease. To "save" the taxpayer pennies...which turned out to be no savings at all.
This all made me just kind of realize…. lmagine the army a trillionaire could have. With that kind of money, they could find a way to overthrow the government. Trillionaires and billionaires are basically a national security threat. And I expect they are ones the government can do nothing about at this point. Do I sound crazy? I can’t help but think about how Osama Bin Laden wasn’t even a billionaire, was just sitting on like 30 million to my knowledge, and he still messed the world up with just that little. He was the biggest contributor to 9/11 and spent only like a half million dollars to do it.
Overthrow the government? Hasn't that already happened? Trump has bragged that Musk stole the 2024 election for him. Also, the billionaires own almost all the media in the USA, so most people do not hear about the really bad stuff Trump is doing.
Encourage you all to watch Patrick Boyle's video which explains in accessible, but careful, detail that this IPO will be a scam with an inflated price and lots of rules not applied to it.
I meant all of his projects over the last decade or so: solar roofs hyperloop tesla semi tesla autopilot robot assistants Neuralink cratering twitters value until very recently, the cybertruck DOGE
These are just the products, he has promised a ton of stupid little features that have never existed. Like being able to summon your tesla from across the country with and app or that his rockets will carry 1000x the payload compared to any other on earth.
He has been perpetually telling a room full of tech enthusiats and investors that "we're very close, less than a year away," to drum up hype and inflate his companies net worth 8x what it's ever actually generated. He is a grifter.
A billionaire existing is fucked. The fact that one can multiply to a trillionaire is inconceivable. Billionaire is I conceivable amount of money… trillions shouldn’t even be in a conversation for one person… ever.
75% tax rate over $1B in income. 50% yearly tax rate on wealth over $1B in addition to income tax. 99.9% tax on income or wealth over $2B.
Hoarding money needs to be taxed at different rates than people who use their income to benefit society in some obvious way. Elon should basically have to forfeit all but $1B of his $1T.
It will be a “successful” IPO because the underwriters are going to keep the public float very low. It will have a huge first day and be really volatile like most IPOs. The 250+ PE ratio is up there with Palantir, but just like Palantir, institutional investors justify the forward PE projections because they perceive it as a monopoly. Institutions will keep the stock up but they won’t risk holding as it tests new highs, so it’s setting up a pure long play.
Have you ever watched a SpaceX rocket LAND ITSELF? Automatically and perfect every time. It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen, like I'm watching aliens.
SpaceX makes every other space program on the planet look like they're stuck in the 1950's. What they're doing is what America should have accomplished decades ago, or at least by the 1990's or 2000's.
Whatever he gets for making SpaceX happen, whatever he did to make it happen, he deserves it. No matter what you think of the guy, and I'm not a Trump guy.
E-v-e-r-y-o-n-e knows the SpaceX umbrella of companies is a straight up Ponzi Scheme using sales numbers from selling to their own companies under the umbrella to account for profits. Waymo does self driving where Tesla had the head start. China is crushing Tesla in EV's. SpaceX wasn't reliable enough for moon mission & contracts are circular money requiring new funding rounds to keep the scam going (that's where you come in). We are NOT colonizing Mars (lol). Starlink satellites have a short life and critics all say this is a classic case of 'Future Belief' funding present operations. He lies about everything and rigs elections according to his own statements. He constantly has to find a new scheme to stay one step ahead and the timing couldn't be worse. This is the end of the line and the 1% are now just selling to themselves.
this autismo with 20 kids and half of them are trans.. whereas me and my family dont have health insurance. sigh. if you idiots ever vote republican again...
There needs to be the risk of being seized by the government for national security reasons. Defense Production Act meets treason and immigration fraud. The next administration is going to be the guys Musk fired. He fired the wrong half of the CIA. Plus we’re all communists now. Sorta.
I am not a trillionaire, or a billionaire, but I think he will just end up merging SpaceX with Tesla into one company, which can also serve as a mask to shield some of the breakdowns Telsa is dealing with now - struggling sales. And the profits and margins for SpaceX may be greater since there isn’t much competition and the customer isn’t consumers, and that will help compensate for Tesla’s numbers.
All the things I think about this man aside. SpaceX is probably the best product they have. I suspect a lot of Tessla investors are gonna sell their options there, to then buy the ones from SpaceX
SpaceX accounted for more than 18% of all U.S. Cybertruck registrations during the final quarter of 2025. Other Elon Musk-led ventures (including xAI, Neuralink, and The Boring Company) acquired an additional 60 vehicles. The world's first trillionaire will be the guy who learned how to fellate himself.
I don’t consider people to be rich if all their money is tied up in the market. Unless that trillion is cash money - it doesn’t count and he’s just a bum who borrows and never pays it back.
So in the near future we will have more Rockets going Boom because investors need returns and those pesky reliable gaskets are to expensive so we'll use the ones made by my cousins import business and save millions of dollars for our shareholders. Where have I seen this playout before? Oh I know! every single For Profit Publicly traded business.
I seriously think this fucker will never be happy with any amount of money - even if he had the wealth of the entire world. Not sure what to think at this point any more.
I think its actually been studied and found that there is just a flat plateau of satisfaction you can get from wealth. I think it was like $100,000 whatever that adjusts for in inflation. After a point you get diminishing returns because the money can't really secure you anymore.
It just becomes a scoreboard you think you need to win. If Elon Musk literally was given every single cent of wealth in the world he'd simply chase something else to fill whatever hole he has in his life.
Hell if that happened his chances of overdosing would probably skyrocket as he chased different highs.
And it still won't be enough. Greed is a malignant disease. It's a bottomless black hole. No matter how much wealth, resources, power, excess or underage sex slaves you pour into it, it can never be filled. Not all the money in the world is enough to satisfy the black void inside these people where the soul should have been.
Once the 0.1% own 99.99% of all the wealth, which will eventually happen. What happens then? Do we go back to bartering? Does the dollar completely lose it's value?
elon is regarded as the most successful entrepreneur of all time by nearly every investor and entrepreneur / business owner on the planet.
trillions of wealth generated from his companies and has created millions of millionaires, hundreds of thousands of jobs from his efforts.
it's genuinely insane what he's been able to accomplish. and he's the chief ENGINEER of tesla and spacex on top of it, most people can't even comprehend what that actually entails.
He used US taxpayer money to get here, stole an election, trashed the world, sucked up billions in taxpayer resource, stole personal data, all while keeping the others you mentioned down.
If it actually launches at that valuation I'm shorting the piss out of it
ReplyDeleteYou won't be able to for a while, until all of Elons buddies get to cash out and drop the price on their own.
DeleteTypically you can short as soon as trading opens, did it on COIN awhile back.
DeleteYou definitely can, but I’m sure the premiums on those options will be as ridiculous as the IPO itself.
DeleteYou just short shares
DeleteWhat are you talking about of course you can. Is it a good idea? Probably not.
DeleteNo you’re not. If you’re so confident in shorting why don’t you short Tesla
DeleteLol wtf are you on about? Ill dm you the position of you care that much

There is a video if you want to watch

It's not just SpaceX, other companies like OpenAI are on the same train. There are also multiple rule changes.

This is part of the reason the 401k was introduced in the first place. Why guarantee a payout with a pension when you can guarantee payment into the stock market instead.
ReplyDeleteI think it was a way to eliminate taxes from executive bonuses.
DeleteHow does that work? As far as I know:
Delete1. Executive bonuses are a tax write off for the company
2. There are no taxes on the bonuses the CEO gets (as options) until they sell the shares, which they never do, just leverage them for low interest debt.
no they way to do that is to pay bonuses in stock and borrow against your shares.
DeleteOh this isn’t a conspiracy. This is a fact
ReplyDeleteConspiracies can be factual. It is a fact that they are conspiring.
DeleteTrue true

ReplyDeleteIrs really only the NASDAQ. S&P float weights and the Dow is weighted by share price so that's a laugh.
ReplyDeleteEven something like ITOT is float adjusted and will be 0.05-0.1% weight
"But there is a way for us regular people to fight back."
ReplyDeleteyes, like how they did with dot com bubble and nobody lost anything.

ReplyDeleteCan it make us millionaires?
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be one of the biggest scams. Elon has a history of cashing out just before it pops.

the only reason they secured those contracts is because they are able to do things no other space company / project is able to do, including Nasa
in the grand scheme of things, thats roughly <1% of the total Tesla/SpaceX revenue. So essentially negligible.
