Twitter users want to trick Clinton supporters to 'vote' via text
No one can vote via text message. No one can vote via Twitter.
That, however, hasn't
stopped anti-Clinton Twitter users from trying to spread misinformation to
Clinton supporters with well-crafted ads that look like they come straight from
Hillary For America.
"Avoid
the line," read some of the fake ads.
"Text 'Hillary' to 59925."
Many
of them appear to have been removed after Twitter user
@mcnees highlighted the ads and Twitter's response to them in a few tweets of
his own.

A
Twitter spokesperson declined to comment on the specific accounts or to say
what policies these tweets may have violated, but Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey responded to
@mcnees to say the problem had been "fixed."

For
what it's worth, anyone who texts "Hillary"
to 59925 will quickly be greeted with a message that makes it clear they have not just voted.
When we did it, we got this reply:
"The ad you saw
was not approved by iVisionMobile OR Hillary For America in any way. To opt-in
to the real HFA list, text HFA to 47246. Reply STOP to cancel."
Though that attempt at
voter suppression seems to have been short-lived and not well planned, the
Republican National Committee and the campaign of Republican presidential
nominee Donald Trump have both been accused of trying to suppress minority voters, who generally vote for Democratic candidates.
They are accused of doing this through intimidation.
The
United Hispanic Council filed a complaint with the
Department of Justice late last month, alleging that a GOP investigation into voter fraud was being
used to intimidate elderly voters.
The Democratic Party is
suing the state Republican parties of Arizona, Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania,
accusing them of threatening minority voters there.
Trump himself has called for his supporters to make their presence known at polling stations on Election Day.
To actually vote, make sure you are registered or that you can still register. Then, make sure you know the location of your polling station for Election Day on Nov. 8.
I've seen the same thing directed towards the Trump deplorables. Why not report that? Personally, I think anyone who falls for it is so stupid and uninformed that it's better that they don't vote.
ReplyDeleteYou will NEVER Get My Vote!
ReplyDeleteIf you could vote from text or Twitter, Ron Paul would probably be president right now.
ReplyDeleteThat's truly funny. I'm curious to see the metrics. How many people have fallen for this.
ReplyDeleteGo vote at the machines with computer chips from Russia like the rest.
ReplyDeleteLiberal voters are too smart to fall for that!! Deplorables would though!
ReplyDeleteMakes sense, look how they've been fooled by Hillary.
ReplyDeletedon't be fooled people, the dem politicians know exactly what they are doing..they want to bring in more refugees65,000 (H orchestrated the bombing of syria and made them refugees!!)..these refugees will immediately be on welfare, food stamps, obamacare, all at our expense. they will be desparate and greatful to the democratic party for "letting them in" and they will turn Arizona and many other states permanently blue at OUR expense...it's at OUR, the tax payers expense!!! we all know that career politicians like H make back door sweet heart deals with the richest companies, they give to her foundation,m they pay her husband millions for bunk speaches, then she gives them tax breaks, they lobby her, she gives them our hard working tax dollars..so the only ones that will be stuck on the hook to pay for all the illegals new path to citizenship and these refugees will be you and me, the working class. It is not about race, it's about me, not being able to afford paying for anyone. I have 2 kids to support! We cannot afford more free loaders! Thanks to Obamacare, we can no longer afford health insurance! for the 1st time in 13 years, we will have to forego insurance and pay the huge obamacare penalty. The penalty for us is $6-7k, the cost of insurance is $1350/month or $17k/year!!!! and that's they CHEAPEST HIGH DEDUCTIBLE PLAN OFFERED!!..it's a sad day for our family. repeal obamacare. it's killing the tax paying middle class that are supporting this countries monthly payments!!
