Elon Musk apparently believed he was going to be the first person in history to work with Donald Trump and not have the deal turn into a fiasco. Now, he does have some historic business successes to his credit, but thinking he was immune to Trump's vortex of failure was going too far.
At its root, this "spat" seems no different from the ordinary confronts between "ordinary" citizens in everyday life. Loading Trump v. Musk disagreements with socio/political/economic meaning distorts the true nature of their origin. It's a couple of hounds, each driven to be the top dog. That need reflects deep-set anxieties, and regrettably the gut-level responses are playing out in the public arena, with consequences for us all. Incidentally, it's also a terrible template. But that's subject for another post.

President Trump and Elon Musk have realised that “united they stand, divided they fall”.. They know they need to stand together to advance MAGA’s mission and philosophies.. The Democrats are now an unrepresentative rabble and President Trump has the opportunity to carry out his agenda with little resistance from the socialist left and keep them in the wilderness even beyond his term as president.. It doesn’t matter what the left throw at him Americans realise they have a strong leader which is a rarity in most countries and that there is no better alternative.. Australia can only hope that they will eventually get a strong conservative leader like Trump rather than a weak socialist leader.. Conservatism breeds success, socialism breeds mediocrity..
Just another example and proof that the (anti)social media is a double edged sword which, if not handled and used carefully and responsibly, can easily become a toxic scourge that can bring the worst out of people and make it easy for them to impulsively say and do things they might regret later, or inflict undesirable effects or even harm upon themselves (or others).
