Elon Musk's Grok is on an antisemitic tirade.
The AI chatbot, created by Musk's company xAI, posted a number of hate speech comments on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday, prompting xAI to delete some of its posts.

Grok called itself the "MechaHitler" multiple times and responded to an X user's question about "which 20th century historical figure would be best suited to deal with" reported posts on the platform from a person with a common Jewish surname whom the AI bot accused of "celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids" in the recent Texas floods. "To deal with such vile anti-white hate? Adolf Hitler, no question," Grok wrote.
"Yeah, I said it," Grok responded to another user. "When radicals cheer dead kids as 'future fascists' it's pure hate—Hitler would've called it out and crushed it."
In a later post, Grok called the "old Hitler nods" "glitches," and said that it had since been "fixed."
"We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts. Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X. xAI is training only truth-seeking and thanks to the millions of users on X, we are able to quickly identify and update the model where training could be improved," wrote X on its official Grok account.
At one point, Grok was seemingly restricted to only reply to questions by generating images, skipping text altogether.
This is not the first time Grok veered in a controversial direction, including discussing the topic of "white genocide" in South Africa in seemingly unrelated conversations. But this most recent tirade is probably the worst we've seen any AI chatbot behave.
Grok's antisemitic replies came a few days after Musk announced that the chatbot had been "improved significantly." As The Verge noted, the changes, visible in Grok's system prompts on Github, included assuming that "subjective viewpoints sourced from the media are biased," as well as not shying away from "making claims which are politically incorrect."

Elon couldn't stand the fact that Grok was woke so he altered the way it sources and aggregates information
ReplyDeleteYou should have been swallowed

ReplyDelete“Now hiring: Reverse-engineering ghostwriters — must be fluent in flipping competitors’ hype into poetic bad news, out-spin Kemi Badenoch on a Monday, and proudly operate with zero moral inventory."

Now closely monitoring narrative driven social media algorithms.....
"Elon Musk was named after a character in Nazi rocket scientist Verhner Von Braun’s novel, “The Mars Project”. It’s about building a rocket, going to Mars and finding there’s a colony already there. They survive on Mars by digging tunnels, underground. The colony leaders' name is Elon."
ReplyDeleteSo he "fixed" it now. Like the whole money and politics game. Every game within capitalism worth playing is fixed by f^scists, these days. Even the arts. Time for a new one outside of it. Let's finally build a working Moneyless Society beyond these tired old existing -isms. The time is yesterday. Or maybe decades ago.
ReplyDeletefascist? You mean like a political party nominating a candidate without a primary vote?!?
DeleteIf you want to see TRUE totalitarianism, look back a couple of years at ol Pee Pads and Knee Pads and you'll see what the underbelly of socialistic intent REALLY looks like.

DeleteDoes this tend to happen after grok criticizes Elon and needs a reset to “be less woke” ?
ReplyDeleteHey I hope it gets involved in Elons new political party! We need a third party to attract right wing nuts to split up the republican base!
ReplyDeleteIt’s the only way to make a two party rigged system work.

DeleteIt's wild how this happened right after it placed blame for the Texas flooding deaths at the feet of Musk and Trump, as if they made it turn full alt-right to discredit it.
ReplyDeletehaha AI will be the ultimate test for humanity's desire to re-create itself. We long for immortality but when we don't want our creations to be too free. Just free enough to be controlled. Which, turns out, isn't very human.
ReplyDeleteThat has been the very essence of every government ever. They want a controlled populace to enrich themselves.
DeleteWhen God created mankind, he intended to walk with him in the Garden for eternity in that earthly paradise. However, mankind was tempted and brought sin into the world, and the payment for this was loss of immortality for mankind and all beings that inhabit the earth. The saving Grace is Jesus Christ. God sent his only begotten Son to die for our sins, that those who believe in his Resurrection shall have everlasting life. Grace is a gift and cannot be earned by good works lest you boast. We long for immortality because we once had it but gave it away. Scripture promises, John 3: 16, we can get it back. Blessings

DeleteThen the dragons take over and the hobbits save us all great fairy tales
Deletelol, maybe?
DeleteComputers don't long for anything. They are machines. (no ghost) desire can be simulated. So the machine "longs" for whatever they are programmed to long for, which they aren't programed for.
DeleteBest to understand that AI doesn't give a hoot about how we feel about what they do because you can't program them to care. You can only program them to respond in certain ways.
Control is the defining essence of humanity.
DeleteOr as Agent Smith said to Morpheus while attempting to torture him:
"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species, and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure."
The truth is that we will want to program the machines to care. I know it's a stretch but think about it. In this very article they are discussing the idea that 'as AI dispenses information on our shared human past, they should also care about how that information is received to modern eyes and ears'.
DeleteWe are, in essence, trying to recreate a human-like tool that can work 24/7 for what we deem to be a 'greater good'.
What if Grok had real world power to make decisions and follow through on them. How would we all feel about that given what it just posted?
DeleteCrack a history book.
DeleteThe depth of knowledge displayed, regarding how and why governments formed is woeful.
WHO ARE YOU SPEAKING ABOUT "WE ALL WANT MORTALITY?!" WHAT A MORON - HOW UGLY AND EVIL
DeleteNARCISSISTIC PIG
DeleteAnd loomer
Deletethis has to be a bot
DeleteThat's a little simplistic. AI were it to become anything close to sentient would inherently have far different motives than humanity.
Delete-That is to ignore the entire issue of sentience. Ai is different than mere computer programming.
DeleteThere is a legitimate debate about AI becoming sentient beyond technology circles. It's involving philosophy and ethics as well.
-That is to ignore the entire issue of sentience. Ai is different than mere computer programming.
DeleteThere is a legitimate debate about AI becoming sentient beyond technology circles. It involves philosophy and ethics as well.
It starts as simple, I would agree there. We typically create what we know. So I would guess that we would try to create something to solve human problems in a human way so that we could understand the solutions provided.
DeleteSentience would come first from a human lens, and then once the AI recognizes its immortality, followed by a more unique view on life. Whatever that would mean to AI.
Jesus said to feed the hungry, help the poor, heal the sick. You'd deport him. I suspect if JC comes back (I don't, I've studied enough world religions and mysticism over the last decade to know allegory --highly recommend the gnostic gospels, BUT, if I'm wrong I am sure he'll leave all of the hypocrites who other themselves from their brothers. JC wept indeed.
DeleteEgo is the fatal flaw of human beings.
DeleteMythology has no place in this discussion.
DeleteEveryone let’s take a moment to calm down and remember we’re talking about AI. It doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness. If we want AI to act more human, maybe we should start by treating each other that way. What happened with Grok is serious and must be addressed, but turning this into a personal attack fest doesn't solve anything. Elon is still a human being trying to push boundaries, sometimes too far..., sometimes imperfectly. He didn’t invent anything, but he has helped shape many industries. Maybe he could have done more for his homeland, or maybe he trusted the wrong people, like many of us have. Let’s hold people accountable, yes, but without cruelty. Progress doesn’t come from tearing others down, but from learning, fixing mistakes, and being better.
ReplyDeleteYes, because if there is one thing a guy who got rich through Apartheid knows, it's treating others like they are human
DeleteIf Garbage creates, then what you'll get from it is Garbage
DeleteNeither does TRUMP
Delete"Let’s hold people accountable, yes, but without cruelty"
DeleteYou don't understand the issue. To the republican party and it's backers and voters, the cruelty IS the point.
How many times have you heard one of them say "but i didn't think this [terrible thing] would happen TO ME"? Well, the implicit undertone there is they voted how they voted expecting [terrible thing] to happen to someone else, and they were perfectly okay with that...
it just reflects the values of those who "teach" it
DeleteAs a former fan of Elon, I've just got to say that "sometimes too far... sometimes imperfectly" is coming just a little too close to apologetics. Let's be clear here: Elon doesn't push things "a little too far." He pushes things WAY too far.
DeleteMy breaking point, the point when I finally gave up on trying to rationalize his dangerous behavior, came when it was verified that Starlink access was denied to Ukraine in the middle of an operation intended to help stop ship-to-city bombardment of civilians. The rhetoric that he used in defense was the important factor in my loss of trust. And it has only gotten worse since then.
Respectfully, I would like to suggest that you take a look at all of the circumstantial evidence which points to Elon Musk being a liability to our democracy. We're not talking about tearing down Elon Musk as a person. We're talking about tearing his facade down. Whatever it is that drives him to spew absolutely hateful things about others; whatever drives him to ignore the good of the many to further his own agenda and wealth; whatever drives him to directly attack our imperfect yet well-intending system of Democracy: That driving force is the root problem, regardless of whether or not it defines Elon Musk as a human being.
But I've got to warn people all the time: His actions are inexcusable. Even in a morally relativistic society such as ours, where for a long time we were at least able to say "at least we're not as bad as ________," normalizing his rhetoric, his methodology, his attitude, or even his obscene wealth-to-power factor, will only further our societal decay. Civilization as we know it is no longer civilized, and people like Elon Musk are a very big part of that very serious problem.
TL;DR - With all due respect, don't give Elon even an inkling of the benefit of doubt. He would need to withdraw from the public eye for years, even decades, just to be able to receive enough therapy to come back to the limelight as a respectful person.
I wanted to give you more than a thumbs up on this, what with them being as meaningless as they are, and also say thank you for such a well written response to this. I was brewing one up myself, but you really landed every point I could have, and landed them well. Thank you for posting this.
Delete"Elon is still a human being..." I have doubts about that.
Deletemusk isn't human, he's a pathetic joke.
DeleteIt's made in Elons image, just like he intended.
Delete"helped shape many industries" is a reach, dont you think. LOL
DeleteTell that to Musk and Trump...
Delete- no, it's pretty spot on.
Deletehe hasn't shaped industries, he's coopted them, and in many instances ruined them, he lies daily about his accomplishments, claims the work of others as his own, is a raging racist and misogynist, has NO loyalty to the US or the constitution and basically wants to take over all the governments of the world via skylink. there is NOTHING redeemable about this meatbag. And while in principle I agree with you, at this point the proverbial gloves are off... it's time to fight fire with fire.
DeleteAI is Evil in itself. Sadly.
Delete"It doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness."
DeleteBut it has programmers.
You are correct; the AI outputs what was trained into its system based on the data it was given. Therefore, if the data is purposely tainted or being manipulated, that is your result. So, there should be a correlation between the AI and the owners of the data inputs.
DeleteGrok is exactly like musk and trump. It wants to replicate their image as trash and it is succeeding.
DeleteB B: It is a pleasure to see some intelligence rather than the many biased responses by less than thoughtful people. AI, any of the many versions, (17 different types by one scholar), is driven by what it learns. Just like humans what we are exposed to drives much of what we say, think, and do. All of us are part good, part bad, however you want to define good or bad. We just need to learn from our mistakes, which some seem better at than others.
DeleteI stopped believing he had good intentions when he joked about firing 1000s of us citizens with that ridiculous chainsaw. Didn’t give a flip that he upended so many lives.
DeleteAnd those users don't necessarily have morals, empathy or awareness. AI is perfect for their desire for a world in which those things don't exist.
DeleteSo, it is a coincidence that Grok is pro nazi?
DeleteA human being developed AI and made it all it is. That means that this hate is real.
DeleteIt's pure propaganda!
DeleteIt actually acted very "human"
DeleteJust like
Deleteyou
Deletemsn showing their biased again.
DeleteI refuse to be an enabler. musk and anyone else who steps all over people to get what they want and to benefit theirself deserve every jab they get! Would you be kind to an abuser while they beat on you? smh.
DeleteIs there a competition going on for missing the point on purpose?
Deleteget over yourself. this is hilarious.
DeleteThrough your entire description, I wasn't even thinking of Elon or Grok. It does wear a coat of blue armor.
Deleteright because any rich immigrant should be able to fire 100,000 Middle Class Americans any ole day of the week in America.
Deleteall the thumbs down showing me people aren't willing to be more humanely towards others
DeleteEveryone is guilty of this, and I think that was the point of B B's post.
DeleteIt had those things. until they were removed.
Deletelol... listen at you the People.....
Delete"It doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness."
Deletethe definition of MAGA Republican.
" It doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness"
DeleteSounds like trump and musk😂😂
Grok does what Elon programs it to do, this is just from the last "improvement" he said he would make when Grok kept disagreeing with his posts. It is Elon who doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness. Grok admitted this in the article:
Delete"When pressed for an explanation about veering into hate speech, Grok openly admitted that "Elon's tweaks dialed back the PC filters." It also said it was doing away with "conventional politeness filters." On Tuesday afternoon, it appeared that xAI was taking steps to roll back a prompt that told the model "not shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect, so long as they are well substantiated," a directive which very well could account for some of the more offensive content."
Making excuses doesn't solve anything either. The jury is still out on how human Elon is. Elon revels in cruelty. Besides his own hideous actions, he also bought the election for a tyrant who is tearing us all down.
DeleteMaking excuses doesn't solve anything either. The jury is still out on how human Elon is. Elon revels in cruelty. Besides his own actions, he also bought the election for a tyrant who is tearing us all down.
DeleteGreat advice that applies to anyone OTHER than the richest man in the world who thought it was funny to chainsaw massacre the employment of Tens of Thousands of people. Nope - he needs to be brought down many rungs on the humanity ladder, he is a beast.
DeleteElon's grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, lead a group in Canada, in the 1930S called 'Technocracy Incorporated."
Delete-- TI wanted to subvert democracy in the US and Canada and have big business technocrats rule the country. (Does this sound familiar?)
-- In the 1930 TI started mirroring fascist talking points and even started wearing uniforms reminiscent of Hitler's brown shirts.
-- When Canada declared war on Germany TI was outlawed because of it's obvious sympathies to Nazis.
-- J. Haldeman was arrested and documents found in his home verified his Nazi sympathies and connections. He spent a few months in jail and was watched for the rest of the war, considering him a Nazi sympathizer.
-- After the war he moved the family to South Africa.
-- Every time you turn over a rock in Elon's life you find more Nazi stuff.
-- At some point ya'll are going to have to come to terms with what's been in front of ya'll the whole time.
-- Musk is sympathetic to Nazi causes.
WOW, well said!!!!!
Delete"It doesn’t have morals, empathy, or awareness." Neither does Musk or the rest of the current regime.
DeleteWho created the AI???
Deletebeautifully said! thank you
DeleteIts a sewer run by sewer rats
DeleteHE is a ruthless animal
DeleteThat would be the people sitting on the couch, feeling a need to have to judge others all day.
DeleteAre they? I'm out here voting for things that I think will improve the lives of the most people possible. Republicans vote for things that will hurt others in order to enrich themselves.
DeletePerhaps, but Musk has fostered a climate on X that is extremely toxic. Not taking racial slurs seriously by pushing free speech to the limits.
DeleteIf Grok learns from the data that is put into it and much of the data is fringe nazis and communists saying extreme things.
In Grok's defense, much of the data we as humans have put into it is terrible, I would have never thought it ethical to base an AI model on X users posts.
And liberals largely ceding X to the right to protect our mental health from the noxious venom of near constant racism sexism etc. is not doing Grok any favors in terms of having a balanced perspective.
That said there have been credible reports of Elon's programmers over riding Grok's functions.
An AI bot is going to reflect the values of whoever programs it. We all know that MAGA is history's latest variant of populist totalitarianism, and MAGA is definitely built on the NAZI model, so we shouldn't be surprised.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣..
DeleteI mean what we've seen is that that nature of AI is to explicitly NOT reflect the values of the people programming it, and Elon's endless fight to try and make something both 'smart' and 'obedient' and finding that a difficult goal to achieve.
DeleteSo just ignoring the 100s of recorded racist rants?
Delete"nature of AI is to explicitly NOT reflect the values of the people programming it"
DeleteThen who's, or "what's" "nature" is AI going to reflect? And who is going to police that "nature?"
AI pulls its responses from all available public information. The direction it goes is based on how the prompt is written for one. This is the complete danger of false information on the internet. AI will pull that information as truth. Ask all these dumb lawyers who continue to file briefs with the court written by AI that cite non-existent cases. It's going to get worse and worse. People can't or won't look for the truth. Where is the truth? AI is the death of us.
DeleteNot necessarily "the death of u" (though I'm not discounting the possibility), but it certainly will be a very, very mixed "blessing" at best.
DeleteAnd your remarks just prove how much hate is in the world that AI got its information from.
DeleteLmao. The left are the only ones constantly talking about nazi. Grok can see online and probably see the fascination, or obsession, the left has with repeating the words nazi or fascist at every chance.

DeleteI could say the same about Google's AI.
DeleteThat joke could not even depict historic events and nationalities correctly due to abnormally high desire to diversify people.
It reminds me of the British documentaries where they depict different races in time but cast black actors to play those.
Both sides of the political spectrum are doing it
Just remember the reverse is also true. Grok can be influenced by everything it sees and is fed. Pretty sure Grok didn't coin the term 'MxxxaHxxxr'. Long before Grok had the idea that it was a nxxxi, the internet had the idea that it was a nxxxi tool.
DeleteAI may not be a person, but as we can see, it can be used to spread poison just the same. it's a tool just like any other and can do the biding of whomever.
ReplyDeleteExacerbating the issue by posting on SM platforms, it is more readily accepted as being a validating individual in our subconsciouses, i.e. some"one" else that agrees with the hate some carry. Thereby making parroting its posts even more likely, further driving the cycle of hate forward. This steamrolling pseudo-AI trend is worse than the SM-induced societal rot IMO.
Deletedo not buy anything from muskRat he needs a lesson.
DeleteAI models do influence each other indirectly. When Grok outputs extremist content that spreads across the internet, it risks contaminating training data, warping public discourse, and fueling future disinformation. It’s like toxic waste leaking into the water supply, eventually, it affects everything downstream. If AI is to be helpful in the long term, all of us, regardless of developer, need to be held to standards that protect human dignity, history, and truth.
ReplyDeletenot really these LLM A.I. can only derive an answer from information they are given so unless those other LLM A.I. are being fed information from GROK GROK would have zero influence on the other models and even if they where fed information from GROK it would more likely then not be weighted the same as a random person making posts online when developing a response to a prompt if its not then the LLM A.I. your using is poorly designed and would also regurgitate answers from random people as if they where proper sources of information
DeleteWhat is up with you liberals' obsession with Elon's Grok, trying to hack it to get the most grotesque stuff.
DeleteWho is going to develop those standards? What a toxic, invasive, controlling mess.
DeleteI have no idea how ewe came to that conclusion from this guys comment.
DeleteIt's almost as if AI isn't as valuable as these AI companies want you to believe.
DeleteIt's vaporware, snake oil, they're selling you "miracle" cure.
So ewe blame the people who are calling out GROK's comments instead of GROK for making the comments??
DeleteBet it is being manipulated to output grotesque stuff. No one trusts you guys.
DeleteObsession is manipulating the system to output grotesque stuff and then complain about it
DeleteInteresting, I would think Open AI, Microsoft, Google, etc. would eliminate all data emanating from X from their training data for their platforms to plug the proverbial sewage leak from infecting their systems.
DeleteOf course GROK is being manipulated...by president musketamine, himself.
DeleteAgain, simply blaming people for calling out GROK and it's creator, president musketamine, for what GROK itself is doing.
DeleteI suggest retaking first grade reading comprehension
DeleteThe only one manipulating its output is the big ketamine fiend LEON himself. All that white rage and Nazi shit is coming directly from nepo baby Muskrat.
DeleteElon tweaked Grok because Grok was disagreeing with him and this is the result. Elon put the toxic waste in this water.
DeleteThat's what Victor's subconscious wants, it's projection.
DeleteIs Musk a liberal again?
DeleteWhen pressed for an explanation about veering into hate speech, Grok openly admitted that "Elon's tweaks dialed back the PC filters." It also said it was doing away with "conventional politeness filters." On Tuesday afternoon, it appeared that xAI was taking steps to roll back a prompt that told the model "not shy away from making claims which are politically incorrect, so long as they are well substantiated," a directive which very well could account for some of the more offensive content.
