The big picture here is that the wealthy have so much money, they are looking to turn everything into a means to invest because they are running out of shit to profit from.
If you have money in most of the stock market, you tend to break even when some shit goes up and other shit goes down. It averages out.
So then, what are your options?
find a way to make the whole market go up or down. (i.e. cash out before it goes down and buy)
stop companies from competing, and maximize milking of clients. (i.e. airlines)
find new shit to invest in and/or profit from. (i.e. subscriptions, Acretrader, Realpage, etc.)
Privatizing public companies so you can do internal financial shenanigans seems to be the new thing.
And control the communications. The text and voice, to capture dissenting information and prevent people from talking about what's going on in one area or another. People have been using video games to talk about world events happening in real time for decades. People talking directly could potentially destroy anything they are tried to hide/lie about. Also so nations can't play/communicate/be friends with each other. They want every country at war with each other while normal citizens would rather just play video games against people around the world. They can't have that.

ReplyDeleteThey got too greedy with microtransactions. I started on Sega Madden and NHL. Haven't bought any of em in over 20 years due to microtransactions. Also how they handled Battlefront2 made me lose faith in the company.

EA being bought and destroyed by private equity would be oddly appropriate. A cancer on the industry getting consumed by a bigger cancer on society.
