Four former Twitter executives who were denied severance pay by Elon Musk have reached a settlement with X.Credit: Beata Zawrzel/NurPhoto via Getty Images
Parag was a 100% BJP plant to sniff Dorsey's moist empty chair in the Twitter conference room. That's why no one knew him before and no one knows what he is up to after~
It's concerning to see how Musk has treated these former executives, especially given the high profile of the case and the large amount of unpaid severance. It's a relief to see that the settlement has been reached and hopefully it brings closure to all parties involved.
Confidential settlements should be banned it creates ZERO transparency and fairness in the judicial process. Those settlements are almost entirely there to protect the best interests of the defendant. What should happen instead is to abolish them unless the case was under an already in place a court order seal
It was part of their contract. The lawsuit alleged that Musk fired them and untruthfully said the firings were for valid cause, and therefore they weren't entitled to the severance.
If all of twitter became worthless he'd still have about 450 billion left. most likely a trillionaire by 2035, but keep lying to yourself that burning his cars did anything
I saw Moana recently and a joke about "tweeting" is going to be a dead reference to Gen Alpha kids. Just obliterated the brand because of his autistic fixation with X.
If you see the Twitter acquisition through the lens of profit and amount paid vs what it’s currently worth, maybe he overpaid. If he bought it as a tool to control narratives and win elections… well
That's exactly why USAID funding is so bloated. Every dollar you cut results in people dying. It's awful. It takes a sociopath to make that call. It's much easier to just let the funding grow infinitely.
Or maybe, hear me out….. the dude whose net worth is half a trillion dollars could give up some of his money. And maybe, hear me out again…..everyone who has a net worth in the billions could donate a percentage as well…..ya know, so that children who are struggling with abject poverty don’t starve.
Yes you can if 100k is not enough to run the "household" properly, and if the lenders have confidence that you'll keep paying the interest.
Look, you're not a bad person, you just don't understand the concept of national debt. You're thinking of it like personal debt. You just think it's an issue because "they" have told you that it's an issue. Have you never wondered why every country has some amount of national debt? I mean, if having debt was really so bad, surely someone would have figured out how to pay it back by now, right?
When you take loans out to pay off your debt that's a problem. Interest payments are about the be the top line item. America's credit score dropped. Countries are dumping our bonds AND there's not enough companies or countries to continue buying our bonds. That will sky rocket interest rates which will slow the economy more. Then to counter act you print more money and inflate your dollar.
I understand debt very well.
And to continue my example, if you need 140k to run your 100k household "properly", you are wrong. Live within your means. That's a problem with Americans which is why the average savings is only $9000!!! That includes retirement!
You're still thinking of national debt in the same way as personal debt. No country has ever attempted to pay off their national debt; they just keep it at a "healthy" level which is based on various factors. And there's a reason for that!
Okay, tell me this, what do you think will happen by paying off the national debt? I mean, just look at the countries with the lowest debt to GDP ratios. Tell me, why do you think going in that direction will do any good?
Do you understand national debt? They're in debt willingly. Most of the debt is domestically owned, and mostly from issued treasury bonds. Debt is not bad. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement that the US and (usually) its citizens enter willingly and intentionally.
Yes, exactly! And that's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. Citizens are happy to lend their money and get it back with interest and the government is happy not to spend theirs. I think that's better than debt = bad!!!!11
But he is only against it for other companies. He had the chance to get rid of the subsidies when he was tackling “waste, fraud and abuse” within the government but none of the money he “saved” came at the cost of his companies.
Also I’m not a lib I make my mind up based on facts. You make your mind up because you want to suck musk off.
I'll agree that he didn't do enough at Dodge. Should have cut more. But the ev credit is ending, so it seems like it worked out. He also wasn't apart of decision making for conflicts of interest...
Doubt. The US government has too many agencies with too many regulations. More need to be cut. There's a reason why the world has better infra than us. They do it. We have to do 20 year environmental studies and then argue for another 30
Oh so it's okay because it's someone you like. Noted.
You doubt that it happened, but even if it did, you still totally support it. Why do you have so much blind loyalty to a billionaire? The world has better infrastructure than us because they INVEST IN INFASTRUCTURE instead of billionaire tax breaks.
And I trust the market more than any government. What has the government actually done right? What program can you point to of their thousands that is run with a balanced budget? The government should provide oversight not actually run it. Governments and their employees are largely ret****d which is why everyone is run so terribly. It's like social welfare jobs for the stupid.
If you're this jaded then there's nothing to be gained from this conversation. You're so brainwashed that it hurts. You fell for the welfare queen bullshit, and now you're going on about how billionaires are better than the gov?
How many schools are named after Elon? How many parks? Hospitals? Anything? He doesn't give a flying fuck about you, but I guarantee you're going to take the government roads to work, and enjoy governmental programs like social security, medicaid, etc.
You're like a housecat. Completely oblivious to how people help you, but still snarky enough to lash out. I'll let you be someone else's problem for now since I need to get back to work. I seriously hope you somehow gain some empathy for the common man. Believe it or not, they're humans just like you.
We could do both if the GOP didn’t keep giving tax breaks to the wealthiest, at the expense of everyone else. This summer’s tax bill was the determined to be biggest wealth transfer in US history, and it’s all from the poorest to the wealthiest
Not only is this an asshole attitude, it's fucking stupid. Foreign aid is a huge source of US soft power around the world, and it's a very small percentage of the budget.
If you want lower taxes ask Elon to stop taking so much of it.
SpaceX, for example, pays little to no taxes (because of reported losses…so not THAT successful) yet 84% of SpaceX revenue is from federal contracts…aka your tax money.
But I’m sure you’ll come up with a reason for why that’s ok because you’re infatuated with him and he can do no wrong, correct?
You don’t want to help other people but you’ll gladly help and defend the richest man in the world…pathetic.
SpaceX is profitable as of 2024. Don't hate him for not paying taxes, hate the tax code. You write off losses and they roll over. I do the same thing.
What's wrong with Fed contracts? I'd rather the public sector do the work vs the government since they are incompetent. Who had to save the NASA astronauts again?
It's not about not helping people. Go help people all you want with your money. Stop trying to use everyone else's money for your desires. That's what everyone hates.
And there it is, thanks for proving me right. Real pathetic.
"Stop trying to use everyone else’s money for your desires"
Damn, so close but so far.
You want to your money to help the richest man in the world with his desires but not the poorest people in your own country with their basic needs. That’s pathetic.
The guy who did a nazi salute on national TV is a treasure, sure.
You realize you just voted to raise your own taxes so he could get a tax break, right? Unless you make over 400,000 in a year, you shot yourself in the foot with a shotgun so that the richest man in the world can get richer. That's actually hilarious.
You're going to sit here and talk about government spending while giving handouts to the richest people that walk the face of this earth. We're losing healthcare. Americans are being kicked off of foodstamps. We shut down research for child cancer. All of this so we could afford those tax cuts. It's laughable how stupid of a proposal is, so it's sad to see so many people actually support it. Musk wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
You would also benefit making less than 110k with overtime and tips.
People on food stamps long term is not my problems. You see all the videos of food stamp black people eating better than most middle class because they spend over 1k a month? Yeah, kick them off. Make your way in society or die. You're not my responsibility.
This is hilarious. Look closer at the overtime pay. It's not what you think it is, you barely get anything back. Additionally, most tips are cash, and they go unreported anyway. This bill is not helping poor people, it's getting rid of their healthcare.
And why the fuck are you bringing black people into this? You're not even trying to hide the racism at this point. You'd rather pay for a BILLIONAIRE'S THIRD YACHT than feeding hungry Americans. If I have a choice between giving a starving child a sandwich or a billionaire $100 dollars, im going to give the child a sandwich 100% of the time because I'm actually a decent human being.
Maybe you forgot, but the government is for the people, not for the 1%.
I haven't seen any of the ebt videos by white people 🤷♂️.
I care about a fair tax code. Not just taxing the rich to nothin because you'll still have all of your problems afterwards while also not having any rich.
His one trick pony idea of his many has already been squashed because he realized that forming a new one would prove to be all to difficult in order to achieve the success he wanted. So he folded like many other times with his insufferable tantrums.
his plan is to get like 4 seats which lets him control the entire house iirc.
Dems and Reps always vote together, so whoever has the majority wins. If a third party takes those majority seats, everyone else cancels out and they become the majority
No? You need 218 seats to control the house and that's not even veto proof. You'd need 290 seats (with all members present) to have a veto proof majority.
Twitter is fine. Better now than before. Twitter has struggled with net losses for most of its history, with its revenue declining significantly since Elon Musk's 2022 acquisition due to an exodus of advertisers. While some positive financial indicators and revenue growth projections exist for 2024.
UHC is bad because it would be run by our government, which is incompetent. We already have Medicare and Medicaid which is over budget and provides relatively bad services. With many offices no longer taking that insurance... If you force it, all that happens is what is happening to Canada, where there's still private healthcare and the workers go there to be paid more.
Wipe your mouth when you're done, loser. Oh and btw, sucking Elon off on social media won't make you rich too, it just makes you look like a piece of shit but without all of the money to back it up 🤡
Twitter wasn't making any money prior to Musk buying it. If that wasn't executive performance issue, I don't know what is. lol
ReplyDeleteHmm. It seems that prolonging this final decision...was inevitable. We all knew this.
ReplyDeleteWow, that equates to $32 million each. Talk about overpaid executives.
ReplyDeleteMusk is the scum of the earth and represents everything wrong with Amercai
ReplyDeletelol for musk that's like what paying a parking ticket
ReplyDeleteParag was a 100% BJP plant to sniff Dorsey's moist empty chair in the Twitter conference room. That's why no one knew him before and no one knows what he is up to after~
ReplyDeleteSo i just checked that California is at will so how did this even make it to court.
ReplyDeleteThey should have filed for unemployment LOL. They were fired I would not have paid them a nickel or maybe a nickel but no more.
ReplyDeleteWhy are these former employees still roaming free?
ReplyDeleteif california is an "at will" employment state this would be wild
ReplyDeleteIt's concerning to see how Musk has treated these former executives, especially given the high profile of the case and the large amount of unpaid severance. It's a relief to see that the settlement has been reached and hopefully it brings closure to all parties involved.
ReplyDeleteSeverance? Worthless and not needed, there is your Severance
ReplyDeleteOk, but I just wanted to order a ten pack of crispy taco's and a mexican pizza.
DeleteNot enough. Shut them down. Prison time. I’m so sick of white collar crimes just being monetary.
ReplyDeletePocket change
ReplyDeleteWhat a dead beat on so many levels.
ReplyDelete128 million is pocket change for him.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the equivalent of $16 for someone making $60k a year. 🤯
ReplyDeleteConfidential settlements should be banned it creates ZERO transparency and fairness in the judicial process. Those settlements are almost entirely there to protect the best interests of the defendant. What should happen instead is to abolish them unless the case was under an already in place a court order seal
ReplyDeleteI don't understand, The severance was "promised"? What does that mean? was it written in the contract? or Implied?
ReplyDeleteIt was part of their contract. The lawsuit alleged that Musk fired them and untruthfully said the firings were for valid cause, and therefore they weren't entitled to the severance.
Deletelol it'd been much cheaper for him to pay... no wonder Trump likes this guy so much.
ReplyDeleteIf his net worth was $100,000 he would be arguing over $26.
ReplyDelete$128 mil is pocket change to little rocket boy.
ReplyDeleteBillionaire screwing over millionaires
ReplyDeleteElon musk really is the master of finances! We should put him in charge of our countries finances! \s
ReplyDeleteOne of the avenues for liquidating Tesla shares?
ReplyDeleteWow ! How much did he pay for Twitter ? What is is worth currently ?
ReplyDeleteHe paid too much for Twitter because they forced him to, took it private and then absolutely tanked it's value
DeleteOne of the first things he did was change the name aka killing the brand recognition
Not to mention all the awful and weird changes he's made since
But on a whole I think it's for the greater good. The sooner politicians and news media stop acting like Twitter is real life the better
He was probably on a high dosage of some drug.
DeleteIf all of twitter became worthless he'd still have about 450 billion left. most likely a trillionaire by 2035, but keep lying to yourself that burning his cars did anything

They didn’t really force anything, he made an offer that was legally binding and then attempted to backtrack.
DeleteIf you see the Twitter acquisition through the lens of profit and amount paid vs what it’s currently worth, maybe he overpaid. If he bought it as a tool to control narratives and win elections… well
DeleteYeah, the amount he paid for Twitter to have control of a President and gather all of the governments data he got a steal.
DeleteThats the kind of price the CIA would have loved to pay for "regime changes".
Or better, to train an AI to do that

DeleteCIA has also used a ton of USAID money to do terrible shit all over the world.
DeleteThe pro life party
DeleteEven if that's true. Not my problem or the governments. We're in debt. If you care so much, donate your money

DeleteIf they want to, great. You can't just force people to use their money. You have a twisted mind set.
DeleteEspecially since if he liquidated all of his positions, he wouldn't have nearly as much as that.
We do... it's called taxes, you moron!
DeleteThen why do we have a debt? If the answer is taxes. The problem is spending. You can't make 100k and consistently spend 140k.
DeleteYes you can if 100k is not enough to run the "household" properly, and if the lenders have confidence that you'll keep paying the interest.

DeleteNot at the expense of the country and my taxes. Heard of charities? Go donate your money to one. Not mine
DeleteAh yes, the 8 cents out of your paycheck is really affecting your ability to live.
DeleteActually given how much I paid last year, it's about $330 I paid for foreign aid. I'd rather have the money back
DeleteYeah, I highly doubt that’s the full amount but you’re more than willing to break down the math.
DeleteIt's more actually. $4.9T in tax revenue (I used 6t before) $25B in usaid spending.
Delete25b/4.9t = ~0.5% or 1/196
(1/196) * 80,000 in roughly what I paid in federal taxes = $408.

Yes, the 4 people would vote in regard to who they think should win, so that becomes the majority vote. They aren’t voting a third option

While some positive financial indicators and revenue growth projections exist for 2024.
DeleteBoth are being fed by Government funds, aka Musk is America's Wellfare baby
DeleteThat's such a weak argument and you know it.
DeleteNot particularly, but simp away
DeleteSo every company getting federal money is what? Stop being stupid.
DeleteWhy is it I have to give money to corporations to run but health care is bad?
DeleteThe only weak argument I see here is yours supporting paying for corporations to operate vs them running their books proper.
That's so overloaded. You don't have to give corporations money.
DeleteHealth care is also not bad. It's not perfect, but it's not bad.
Active reading skills don't seem to be your forte.
DeleteWhere do you think the money for corporate bailouts come from?
And what reason is given to not allow universal health care?
I don't agree with bailouts.
DeleteUHC is bad because it would be run by our government, which is incompetent. We already have Medicare and Medicaid which is over budget and provides relatively bad services. With many offices no longer taking that insurance... If you force it, all that happens is what is happening to Canada, where there's still private healthcare and the workers go there to be paid more.
Biggest welfare Queen out there. Getting literally tens of billions in grants from the gov and you're simping so hard for his entrepreneurship.
DeleteNo doubt you're against social welfare for nonbillionaires too. Communism is only for the ruling powers and in americas case that's the ultra wealthy.
Wipe your mouth when you're done, loser. Oh and btw, sucking Elon off on social media won't make you rich too, it just makes you look like a piece of shit but without all of the money to back it up 🤡
DeleteI'm already rich. Not Elon Rich, but rich enough to not have to work anymore. What's your next insult?
DeleteYeah, and I shit gold bricks and am also Batman lmao.
Delete🤷♂️ Just make sure you continue adding value to mainly the sp500. I need your help to keep it at ~6 yoy growth
DeleteYou think he’s a good person?
DeleteBetter than most, yes.
DeleteSomething tells me youre a tesla bag holder lmao
DeleteOnly for the sp500.
DeleteI guess when your moral compass is decided by how rich someone is that makes sense. Strange thing to admit though
DeleteWow. What a miserable world view to have to live with
DeleteYou don't become the wealthiest man on earth by paying your employees fairly... /s
DeleteSarcasm tags ruin all sarcasm, and your comment isn't even sarcastic.

DeleteHe's not gonna fuck you bro
Delete(Unless you can get mpreg, then he might do it just to have a 37th pet sperm to neglect)
He's wealthy because the VALUE of his STOCK is worth what the public markets have it at
DeleteCongrats, you've reached level one. Keep going though, root cause analysis is a practiced skill.
We got Mr. Sherlock Holmes out here. How'd you figure that one out?
