Google’s Nano Banana might expand across your phone soon
We all might be getting a lot more familiar with Google's Nano Banana.
Nano Banana, Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, is an AI image generation and editing tool that lets users enter a text prompt to create images, but it's really known for its ability to edit images. And, now, according to a report from Android Authority, Google might be expanding access to the tool.

Android Authority reported that Google is looking into integrating Nano Banana into its apps and services, including Google Lens and Circle to Search. Fans — at least, the fans posting on Reddit — love Nano Banana, saying it's "so incredibly useful" and "extremely good," so the expansion would likely fall upon welcome ears.
Android Authority worked with a version of the Google Android app (16.40.18.sa.arm64) and found that Google is working on something that could potentially add the Live option back into Google Lens and, of course add the Nano Banana Create option to Search and Translate. This integration, Android Authority reports, is further along than the other noted Circle to Search integration Google is allegedly working on.
Circle to Search is an Android feature allows users to circle, doodle, or scribble on something in a photo or video still and Google will search for it in that same window. Android Authority reports that the feature appears to be in the works, but its implementation is definitely in its infancy. The news outlet said that while the app surfaces a Create option, it is "not yet responsive to input in a way that does anything."
While Google hasn't said anything to confirm the move, Rajan Patel, the Vice President of engineering for search at Google and the co-founder of Lens, quoted Android Authority's story on X and added: "keep your 👀 peeled 🍌"

ReplyDeleteNope not everybody, Imagen 4 is by a superior image generation tool than nano banana
ReplyDeleteThis Nano Banana is the best AI yet. ChatGPT promised it, and there was a lot of hype around it, but it turned out to be rubbish, like a more thoughtful Google.
ReplyDeleteElon tried to launch Grok to compete with ChatGPT, but it became like Threads against X.
And now Nano Banana, which promised nothing, nobody knew about it, and is the best by far.
💯
DeleteNano Banana? Is this Google’s new tech or a weird fruit-related code name? I need to know more.
ReplyDeleteSo we’re going from search engines to bananas on our phones? 2025 is going to be wild.
ReplyDeleteI’m guessing this is some kind of ‘nano’ tech upgrade? Or did Google just decide to go full quirky on us?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I hope Nano Banana is as fun as it sounds. Google needs to make things a little more exciting again.
ReplyDeleteFirst they had the Pixel Banana, now this? Google really loves their fruity references.
ReplyDeleteWill Nano Banana be a phone app or some software update? I’m cautiously intrigued.
ReplyDeleteOkay but... does the Nano Banana have anything to do with actual bananas? Or am I the only one who hopes it’s edible?
ReplyDeleteThe name alone has my attention. If Google is putting Nano Bananas in our phones, I’m down for whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteIt’s like Google’s taking ‘making tech smarter’ and turning it into a meme. I don’t know whether to laugh or applaud.
ReplyDeleteThey’ve already got the search engine, the phone, the AI…now a Nano Banana? What’s next, Google’s fruit salad app?
