  42. Yes, Jesse Jackson is not the "king" of Black people. While Jesse Jackson (who passed away on February 17, 2026) was a towering figure in the American Civil Rights Movement, a presidential candidate, and a prominent activist for over 50 years, no single individual acts as a monarch or sole representative for the diverse community of Black people in America

  50. Good riddance. If you ever met the guy you would know just how much of an asshole he was in person. Hopefully this signals the end of people who profit off of racial division, and hate. Very rarely did anyone's life get better but his. Especially compared to icons like Rosa parks, Ruby bridges, and MLK who actually made the world a better place.

My grandfather once lost his job because this guy stood outside of the museum he was working for blocking the trucks on the way in. Contract got pulled, and things got tough putting food on the table after that.

  58. My coke dealer was once called to a house in Beverly Hills. Upon arrival to a party, the home owner invited him inside. Mouse entered the service entrance not to disturb the well dressed people of this fundraiser. He was under dressed and waited in the kitchen where he could snack on fine foods. The limo arrived with the guest of honor. Through the serving window Mouse watched Jesse Jacksons entourage enter the home. Jackson summoned all the partygoers to the main room. Jackson announced to the room "We all know why we're here. Get your checkbooks out. I will walk around and mingle with you all. We'll have a fantastic dinner and by the time I leave I expect to have $100,000 in my hand." Mouse said his jaw dropped seeing how straight forward Jesse flat told them what he expected, so everyone could enjoy the evening. Mouse has passed away from old age. His club is no more. I'm thankful this ricketty old black guy shared this story with me.

  67. I was in a newly integrated high school when he was becoming popular with Operation Push. “I am somebody .” resonated with all my classmates.

Somewhere along the way he lost his way and became a racial ambulance chaser and grifter. I was so disappointed because he could’ve been another MLK and continued the mission. He openly appeared in public with his mistress even though he was married. I could go on but I can’t help but think about the potential he had and what might have been.

    1. Today we must balance the tears of sorrow with the tears of joy. Mix the bitter with the sweet in death and life. Jackie as a figure in history was a rock in the water, creating concentric circles and ripples of new possibility. He was medicine. He was immunized by God from catching the diseases that he fought. The Lord's arms of protection enabled him to go through dangers seen and unseen, and he had the capacity to wear glory with grace. Jackie's body was a temple of God. An instrument of peace. We would watch him disappear into nothingness and stand back as spectators, and watch the suffering from afar. The mercy of God intercepted this process Tuesday and permitted him to steal away home, where referees are out of place, and only the supreme judge of the universe speaks. - Jesse Jackson

We both laughed, but then we were raised in the same kind of religious environment so both looked at each other like WAIIIIT NO.

Then I wake up to this news, and I'm a little bit more worried. Not really. Maybe.
