Apple's iPhone 13 might have an always-on display with 120Hz refresh rate
Apple's next iPhone might have a feature many Android smartphone users have had for years: an always-on display.
This is according to leaker Max Weinbach (via EverythingApplePro) whose report outlines a number of new features, both big and small, the iPhone 13 will supposedly have. Yes, it's still early for iPhone 13 rumors, but with so many people working from home, EverythingApplePro claims that Apple cannot control its information flow as efficiently as it normally does, leading to more leaks about upcoming features in products.
The report claims the upcoming iPhone will have a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and an always-on display, using tech similar to that of the Apple Watch Series 5 and Series 6, which also have an always-on display.
According to Weinbach, the iPhone won't allow for a lot of customization here; the time and battery icons will always remain on screen, and incoming notifications will show up when needed.
Other upcoming features reportedly include a grippier, matte back, a stronger MagSafe magnetic connector on the back, and new astrophotography features.
As for the iPhone 13's overall look, it should stay pretty much the same compared to the iPhone 12.

A November report by leaker Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the iPhone 13 will get upgraded ultra-wide cameras. Just like the iPhone 12, it will come in four sizes, and it will launch in September, the report said. An even earlier report by analyst Ross Young predicted that the next iPhone will have a 120Hz display, and Bloomberg said that Apple is working on reintroducing Touch ID fingerprint scanner to the iPhone, albeit this time it would be hidden under the phone's display.
My lg has had this for years. It's great.
ReplyDeleteAll these people complaining about AOD. If you don't like it turn it off in settings and let the rest of us enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteSamsung already had it couple of years ago. I personally use it all the time, it literally doesn't drain your battery that much at all.
ReplyDeleteSamsung has had it since 2016 to be precise
DeleteAnd me too on my Note 9 it's really useful especially when I'm attending college or when I go to the cinema
In 1885 the first car with a petrol engine was released. It had wheels. Doesn’t mean it was good just because it was the first one.
Deletenope. Your comparison is flawed because thats one of the main components of the car to run.
Deleteyou can’t have a touch screen phone without a screen I believe
Deletewhat do you mean by good about AOD? Its just basically a simple feature nothing more nothing less
DeleteI mean that just because someone had an always on display doesn’t mean it was implemented correctly or that someone else can’t do it. Same as cars having wheels since that guy did it first. They are wheels but are not the same wheel technology. I thought it was pretty straight forward
Deletesame wheel technology?! Lmaoo I didn't know making a circle required different technology O.o
DeleteThat way, you’ll LITERALLY be able to watch your battery deplete.
ReplyDeleteIt works by using a variable refresh rate, always on may only refresh at 1Hz or less and using Oled which uses much less power.

I already have that feature on my iPhone :|
DeleteWell played
DeleteCreate an iPhone with great features. This is why I wait several years before I upgrade
ReplyDeleteTim Cooks is probably the best public liar speaker in the world. He is so passionate about how he advertise Apple products. I wonder if he has heard or Samsung or Google Pixel.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it that the iPhone 20 might have arms that help it climb into your pocket.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to 2016, Apple. ;)
ReplyDeletewho had a 120hz display in ‘16?

ReplyDeletewag Mo na pong subukan mabilis malowbat
DeleteOr it might not.....No one knows except Apple and even they won’t know for sure until it’s closer to release.
ReplyDeletedrag them bro!!!
DeleteRumors says it will have color display!
ReplyDeleteI saw an article about iPhone purposely draining their old phones to make ppl buy their newer ones
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard that, too, but I’ve had my iphone for almost 3 years (2 new iphones released since) and my battery life is pretty decent for how much I use the phone. Now what they DEFINITELY do is not release ios updates for older phones, but most Android manufacturers do this as well.
Delete2015 innovation
ReplyDeleteMy Nokia Lumia had this almost 10 years ago
ReplyDeleteSo what Android's have had available for years already? Okay Apple.
ReplyDeleteinnovation
Delete1000 ping and still going
ReplyDeleteOther vendors already had this idea but it seem to be more flawless and unique on apple products ; no comments :D
ReplyDeleteLmao always behind
ReplyDeleteStill LAME without in-screen fingerprint scanner.
ReplyDeleteBattery: *excuse me*
ReplyDeleteThey’ll use different panels that use a lot less of the battery.
DeleteS21+, I got 4k camera and 120hz refresh rate. Oh you'll never use always on display.
ReplyDeleteWe need that periscope camera
ReplyDeleteBig achievement by Apple ╮ (. ❛ _ ❛.) ╭

ReplyDeleteBecause Apple perfects their technology unlike ugly androids

DeleteApple products are also geared toward the technologically ignorant. ;D
