Steve from 'Blue's Clue's' surprising Stephen Colbert with a hug is truly heartwarming content
If you've been anywhere near the internet lately, you'll probably have seen that viral video of Steve Burns from the old Nick Jr. show Blue's Clues, popping up on Twitter on the 20th anniversary of him leaving the show to gently reassure us that he's still our friend after all these years.
Well, Stephen Colbert saw it too. And try as he might — even though it was his kids that were emotionally invested in the show, and definitely not him — he couldn't fully conceal his emotions when playing the clip back during Thursday's Late Show.
The good news? Burns himself was waiting in the wings to offer the host a much needed, comforting hug.
“ZoMg I KnOw Im LiKe 35 BuT I WaTcHeD A KiDs ShOw WhEn I wUz A KiD!!!”
ReplyDeleteIt’s interesting how infantile we’ve become as adults.
ReplyDeleteI'm not crying, you're crying WE'RE ALL CRYING
ReplyDeleteJon's piano rendition of "Blue skadoo, we can too" was the perfect way to play them off
ReplyDeleteIf there was ever going to be one, bright shining moment in 2021, then it would be this. ;) Thank you, Steves.
ReplyDeleteMillennials needed this
DeleteWhen he said “I never forgot you...ever.” I had tears going down my eyes. Steve, we really missed you, old buddy.
ReplyDeleteSteve took me completely out of this pandemic for 1 minute and 37 seconds and made me feel like my 7 year old self. Thanks Steve! I never forgot you either!! ;(
ReplyDeleteI hope Stephen realizes that his hug with Steve was for millions of us who would love to be there with them both.
ReplyDeleteEspecially because of the ridiculousness that they're the first 2 people some of us have seen on live TV touch each other at all in over a year.
DeleteI'm not crying! You are crying! (runs away to cry his soul out in the loneliness of his room)
ReplyDeleteI had to stop my dinner to go find my phone so I could leave this comment. I'm so grateful Steven, that you had him on your show. He meant the world to a lot of ppl including myself. Thank you Colbert! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI'll go with the obligatory "I'm not crying, you're crying."
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the classic "who's cutting onions?"
DeleteIm with "Frickin Sneaky Onion cutting Ninjas" over here ngl
DeleteThe past few years have been... well bad. But then Steve comes back and we remember the world is also a place full of joy. Steve came back and it wasn’t enough so Stephen had him on too. Miss you Steve.
