Oh dear.
What's worse: Losing a game where the odds are stacked against you, or winning something that's patronisingly handed to you on a plate?
In the Late Late Show sketch above, which sees James Corden going up against Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Pine in a movie quiz, the host has to endure the latter. Because even though Curtis and Pine get serious questions about movies like Citizen Kane and The Godfather, all of his questions – without exception – are about Clifford the Big Red Dog.
OK, so it's not a completely original sketch – the Late Late Show did a book quiz version back in 2019 that's very similar – but it's still fun.

ReplyDeleteI regularly visit buffets in different cities around the states. Before I go to a buffet, I will place 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. After entering the buffet, I sneak the corndogs into some of the fried food section trays. It is such a joy for me to see other customers of the buffet eat my corndogs thinking they were part of the buffet.

ReplyDeleteAnd disrespectful. To both audience and James. It seemed to be rather vindictive as well. James was finding it less funny as time went on. As some viewers were no doubt. The lopping off of Clifford's head speaks volumes. The professionals aka Jamie Lee and Chris saved this skit from the sink hole.
