Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters perform 'My Hero' with Shane Hawkins at Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert | Mashable.

If you haven't watched Foo Fighters performing 'My Hero' with Shane Hawkins, get to it

A truly powerful moment.

Whether you're a Foo Fighters fan or not, this is one incredible performance.

During one of two tribute shows in London's Wembley Arena for late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, the band invited a very special guest to join them for a powerful rendition of "My Hero." On drums, Hawkins' 16-year-old son, Shane.

"We have one more drummer that's going to come up and play with us, and let me tell you, I don't think I've ever seen anyone hit the drums as hard as this person," frontman Dave Grohl said. "Beyond that, he's a member of our family. He needs to be here tonight with all of us, and I think it makes sense that he's going to come up and play with us tonight."

Grohl's not wrong ā€” Hawkins hits the drums in this performance like nothing you've ever seen. It appears to be a truly powerful moment, not only for the crowd and the band, but for Hawkins himself. In short, he plays the hell out of it.

Hawkins died in March suddenly while touring with Foo Fighters in Colombia. Other special guests who shared memories of Hawkins at the tribute show included Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Jason Sudeikis, Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell, Dave Chapelle, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and more.

Liam Gallagher joined the band onstage to perform Oasis hits "Rock 'N' Roll Star" and "Live Forever" in tribute, Brian May played Queen's "Love of My Life," and to close the show, the band invited drummers Travis Barker, Rufus Taylor, and Nandi Bushell to perform Foo Fighters' "Learn to Fly," "Best of You," and "Times Like These."

  20. 5:20 I don think a drum solo could mean so much between two people. The look between Dave and Shane, carried more weight and legacy than Iā€™ve ever seen on stage. Not only a proud moment from Dave, but an honorable way to recognize the legend we lost so soon. Brought a tear to my eye, and itā€™s things like this that solidify my love for the music community.
