    1. It is time to use "Search" button, instead of going to "Settings" menu. It works fairly good.

  5. Control panel is much better than the settings menu.

  6. Why can’t they just leave things alone. “If it isn’t broken don’t fix it”

    1. because they want to make it harder for people to use

  7. This is sad but Mashable, you make it funny! You don't have a picture of the control panel, this picture is of "this pc".

  13. I don't see why they even had to change anything windows hasn't been the same since windows 7.. I loved that OS now it's just mess after mess they break everything whatever they touch lol

  14. Literally no reason for this

  15. Sounds like WINDOWS 8 all over again. Guess they don't learn from their mistakes lmfao 😆

  25. Control Panel is very important for IT personnel. They should of just remaster the UI, or even added dark mode to it for those who love dark mode as myself. Light mode burns my eyes.

    1. IT personnel should be using PowerShell. Now, because I am a nice guy, I am going to help you and give you a great resource for this: https://learn.microsoft.com/.../show-controlpanelitem...

  26. Probably a good idea to learn everything you need to know in control panel and make sure you can do it in windows 11 settings... Rip

    1. or learn to use PowerShell to do the same things. 😉

  27. At last. They have a new control panel for more than 2 years.

    1. Yeah, but it's not as complete as the old one

    2. I agree but they always update it so, it's time to move forward. We can't have two panels with similar functions in the same system. I bet they will add the missing functionality sooner or later.

    3. For regular users, it might be OK. For power-users and admins, it's really not.

    4. you might be right. Still I think it's probably a good idea for people to just brush up on navigating settings so they can feel confident in their ability to do everything important (for during the transition period I mean)

  28. Good. The control panel is right next to the recycle bin on the quick access and if you want to empty the recycle bin and click the control panel button accidentally it closes the tab. Annoying.

    1. that sounds like you should turn off mouse acceleration. I highly recommend this to everyone anyhow, as mouse acceleration has been linked to carpal tunnel syndrome (repetitive stress disorder) for daily computer users. Be sure to fine tune the pointer speed afterwards.

  29. The Settings app seems more limited; Control Panel worked just fine. Has Microsoft ever heard of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?”

    ReplyDelete
  30. sounds like a real nightmare

  31. Killing what works well is not very smart…

    ReplyDelete
  32. NO big issues, REAL IT people use the command console, or PowerShell anyhow.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not surprised. People don't get to control their own Windows OS anymore, Microsoft seems to want to own and control every aspect.

  34. pati control panel na walang ginagawa tatanggalin nyo pa. xD

    ReplyDelete
  35. while there’s nothing inherently wrong with having a settings menu like we do now, the way Microsoft has implemented it is so bad to the point where many, myself included, still feel the need for the old control panel to be able to actually access useful controls over our computers. MS should’ve just had a fully functional settings menu from the get go with windows 8, or simply modernized the look of the control panel without gutting the functionality.

  36. More Microsoft IDIOTIC Moves. They tried getting rid of the start menu and that didn't work. The idea that the settings menu which is a horrible glorified Mobile menu does not offer anything of use. Try getting to Administrative Tools, try getting to Devices, Try accessing the System and Device manager without 20 clicks from the settings menu. It is a bad Mobile joke being forced on a business OS.

  37. It's not like we actually have a say in the matter.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Does this affect Windows 10?

    ReplyDelete
  39. They seem to want your computer to look like your phone

    1. If that was the case they would've keep Windows Phone. Wish they had it was pretty dope.
