'The Acolyte's cancellation is a huge mistake for Star Wars

For seven glorious weeks in June and July, I was excited about Star Wars again, and it was all thanks to The Acolyte.
Created by Leslye Headland, the latest Star Wars series was a breath of fresh air for a franchise whose biggest live-action TV offerings had mostly devolved into stale Easter egg hunts. (Looking at you, The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.) While The Acolyte certainly wasn't without its own Easter eggs, it was also primarily original material.
We got our first taste of the High Republic Era in live-action Star Wars, as well as new heroes in twins Mae and Osha (both played by Amandla Stenberg), and a new Sith Lord in the Stranger (Manny Jacinto). A cast of mostly original characters and a lack of gratuitous Skywalker cameos kept The Acolyte feeling fresh from week to week, as did its no-holds-barred action sequences, hints of enemies-to-lovers romance, and interrogation of the Jedi Order. By the time the finale rolled around, teasing exciting new possibilities for the show's future, I was locked in and burning for more.
But on Tuesday, Deadline reported that Lucasfilm would not be renewing The Acolyte for a second season. According to the publisher, citing "sources", the reasoning was ratings-based, with the season finale drawing what is believed to be the lowest minutes viewed for a Star Wars finale.
The cancellation might make sense from a numbers standpoint, as The Acolyte's budget was reportedly $180 million for eight episodes. (Never mind that a Star Wars show with fewer connections to existing IP was always going to be a riskier bet.) But from a storytelling standpoint, the decision does a major disservice to Star Wars going forward. It sends the unfortunate message that any attempts at original storytelling will be sidelined in favor of more self-referential slogs. Nothing new is allowed, nor is any show given the chance to grow past its first season unless it's an instant smash hit. So why even bother getting invested in a new Star Wars series in the first place? (Notably, Andor, the best Star Wars series, was guaranteed a Season 2 from the jump. Could you imagine if its low viewership resulted in an Acolyte-style cancellation?)
'The Acolyte' gave me hope for the future of Star Wars. Now, I'm not so sure.
The loss of The Acolyte is also a blow to its audience, many of whom, like me, saw the series as a way to reconnect with a franchise that had otherwise lost their trust and interest. Whether people were seeing themselves in The Acolyte's diverse cast or rejoicing in Star Wars actually embracing an enemies-to-lovers romance, it was a joy to watch viewers geek out every week over the show's every twist and turn.
Of course, there is a nasty flip side to that fandom. Bigoted, so-called Star Wars "fans" took every opportunity to attack the series with racist, sexist, and homophobic rhetoric, all because The Acolyte dared center women and people of color. Stenberg has been a target for this vitriol since her role in the show was announced, the same kind of racist attacks Star Wars actors like John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, and Moses Ingram faced before her. Following the cancellation announcement, comments on Stenberg's social media have been a parade of hateful gloating. (Thankfully, there is still quite a bit of support.) Clearly, this subset of the Star Wars audience views The Acolyte's cancellation as a moral victory and as proof that Star Wars remains "theirs."
That Lucasfilm and Disney did little to speak out against this hate during The Acolyte's run speaks volumes. That they continue to push aside audience members eager for something new speaks volumes too. As one of those audience members, The Acolyte gave me hope for the future of Star Wars. Now, I'm not so sure.
The Acolyte Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+.

ReplyDeleteHuge mistake is believe that letting people who doesn't know, care or love source material can create good products. Huge mistake is believe that changing, contradicting and mutilating the lore of a beloved saga for ideological purposes could be well received. Huge mistake is believe that swifting from entertaining audiences to lectured them is gonna be profitable.
ReplyDeletewell said. The Disney Child Grooming Syndicate is on a mission-and it’s not one of good story telling. I love when evil fails.
Deletei didn't detect the lecturing you're talking about. I just detected bar writing and in the case of Mae/Osha, bad acting!
DeleteYou're right. But I was talking in a broader sense, not just their last flop.
DeleteMy opinion, it's ok to continue it. But make it right.
ReplyDeleteProblem was, Headland wouldn't have "made it right" as that wasn't her agenda for the show.
Deleteread between the line hehehe. To make it right, need to get rid of Headland.
DeleteOdd, other interveiws says otherwise. Meh.
DeleteWill make it hard to commit to watching another project if they don't finish the previous ones.
ReplyDeletethey could simply make movie the story of Revan... the should not have changed a dot and we could have received a masterpiece!!
ReplyDeleteknowing Disney's history with any of their brands lately, they would have messed that up royally
DeleteOh no, they will destroy his story and turn it into bad content like the acolyte was...
Deletethis woke movement will makes him gay and Darth Malak his lover and then will ask why they failed and it is because the toxic star wars fandom.
Deleteso true

DeleteMaking it was the mistake. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. I think Hollywood should prioritize on making great things.. When people spend more money than sending man to space on trashy productions and then the same people complain about people going to space and not using the money to fix poverty 🫢
ReplyDeleteMashable.... 😆 . Anyway, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but besides that it's as easy as comprehend that Disney is a company and they care about profit, this show was failure. Some people liked it but the majority didn't, and we've all experienced that a show we liked got cancelled in our life... making this cancellation a big of a deal, gaslighting others opinions, or plainly hating at anyone who didn't like it and blaming them it's insane.
ReplyDeletehttps://giphy.com/gifs/EjzJxwcqpO2ly
I liked it. The lightsaber fights were of the best i saw until now. The last Episode was promising more.
ReplyDeleteThe light saber fights were full of moments where characters just seem to disappear from the fight only to reappear after another character died. Like they were just standing there watching instead of stepping in to help.
Deleteeveryone is entitled to his opinion. I really liked it. Also... The first Season of the Expanded was for some not good and that has become the best SF series till now. So give it a second Season.
Deletethat has happen in other series and movies as well. Nothing new.
Deletewhy even try??
DeleteBecause just look at the second season of Rings of Power trailer as an example ..
The production Quality has improved, but the terrible Story Arc, characters and Lore butchering are still their...
Well like i wrote everyone is entitled to his opinion. I liked it so a second Season. Yes please.
DeleteIt was a good job that they gave clone wars a second season, the first season was childish and fans did not like the idea of Ahsoka. It was given time to mature and the end result was brilliant.
ReplyDeleteNo !!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was the intro, to get to know the background of all the characters and the abilities that they have.
It’s only just begun….
yes!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!
DeleteThe huge mistake for Star Wars was starting The Acolyte 😂
ReplyDeleteIt was a mistake to let it continue
ReplyDeleteWas it the best starwars content?
ReplyDeleteNo
Was it the worst?
Far from it.
Did it have potential to develop in something better?
Absolutely.
no. It didn’t
Deletefans have been begging for live action Plagueis for years...(last episode spoilers ahead ⚠️ ) he was confirmed to be the dude watching in the cave... We could have seen his rise to power. We could have seen him train Plapatine. We could have seen the both of them learn how to create life with the force *cough Anakin cough* there was definitely potential for something great in season 2.
Deletethe only canon I care about is the book by James Luceno “Darth Plagueis” and Disney erased that and then turned him into some creepy stalker dude in a cave. Miss me with that BS. They would have just butchered the lore more.
Deletei’m a true fan and I would loke Star Wars to end now. Its done. Put a fork in it.
Deleteless quality than this?? Lol precisely why it needs to end. Let it goZ its time for Star Wars to end
DeleteSays the couple thousands of fans bit reality it's all about money so if they don't get anyone that the target audience that it's made for then they cancel it so really it's all the LGBT+ community's fault for not watching enough of it even if the fan base is mostly straight males lol
ReplyDeleteway to bring in homophobia.
DeleteI'm just saying 🤷 there target audience that they made it for didn't care for it enough to get a season 2 or have good writers or destroy already established cannon
Deletethe target audience was Star Wars fans, canceled because a 200 million budget vs low views. What does a person’s orgasm habits have to do with it? Where are you getting that from?
DeleteThere are plenty of stories still can tell on high republic era. Not necessarily this unpopular acolyte…
ReplyDeleteIf it has star wars in the name and I didn't watch this, I didn't even heard about it... it must be bad 😅
ReplyDeleteThat's the question that should have been asked at the start of the season not the end lol
ReplyDeleteRead the room pal 😬😂
ReplyDeleteThis show’s lack of success (not taking into account that massive budget) had nothing to do with it being from a completely different part of the timeline than the majority of the Star Wars stories. If anything, that was the only this had going for it. The story itself was a real clunker. The characters were very forgettable. For me any way, this was the first Str Wars series that I had zero interest in re-watching.
ReplyDeleteRogue One, Andor, The Mandalorian and even Rebels should prove that there is fan interest for shows made outside of the main timeline and for the most part not being dependent on characters from the original trilogy. The difference between those movies/shows and this series was that those all contained interesting and well written and directed stories.
Best move ever by Disney. Poor execution and the female lead definitely lacked any type of likability whatsoever. The show was poorly put together over eight episodes and really could’ve been a 45 minute episode with the plot line done correctly. Sith returning before episode one and another verge in the force. Can’t anyone think of any original plot lines besides going back to the well? I wanted this to work, but between the acting and the storyline, it just was not properly executed.
ReplyDeleteSince when cancelling a product with no demand and having caused a huge division amongst fans (division meaning extinction) is a mistake?
ReplyDeleteDidn't know Mashable does this kind of "modern" journalism, thanks for the heads up
ReplyDeleteIf a large portion of the audience didn't like it, and are not watching it, there is no point continuing to make it, studios cancel lots of shows that have higher audiances and fanbases. The few haters complaining won't lower audiance veiwership, so it can't have made that much of an impact on the cancellation, so stop saying hating "woke" means anything. That said, I still didn't like the writing at all. Changing Lucas' work where "Light/Good" are selfless and should be encouraged, and "Dark/Bad" is selfish and shouldn't be admired, Sith are not anti-heroes. The Mandalorian, Rogue One and Andor showed how to write Star Wars and be new the right way.
ReplyDeleteLet me ask you, let’s say you went to a restaurant and the chef personality made 2 steak dishes for you. The first is a recipe that he’s perfected and worked long hours to make it taste amazing with complimentary sides and the second has ingredients other groups and parties like. they removed the things they didn’t like and added what they did like, one likes gummy bears, one likes ketchup, one likes ramen, one is vegan so you lose the steak, in the end you’re stuck with a mess that looks appetizing to only those few who changed to original to fit their tastes. Which one would you eat?
ReplyDeleteThey should’ve made it a movie along with boba fett and kenobi. All 3 of these shows suffer from awkward pacing. The Acolyte especially suffered from withholding character motivations until the end so it was really hard to care about anyone.
ReplyDeletethis is what killed it, imo. The first 4 episodes were just bizarre in terms of any of the characters acting and reacting the way they did. Rescuing it with a long flashback at the end did make the overall story more comprehensible. But, it was a terrible choice to do that.
DeleteThe show was not good at all, the Special Effects were ok, but the script was very lacking. Some people that I am reading believe that it is because bigots the show failed, IMO, the diverse writers/producers/directors are creating a lot of negative reactions because they try to show being diverse as something “special”… it is not, it is just part of human nature; being woman, black, LGTBI+ etc is not a superpower, just makes you human.
ReplyDelete“The dudes” have spoken up and influenced 😂
ReplyDeleteNo, it was a mistake to allow it to exist
ReplyDeleteThe mistake was making it in the first place
ReplyDeleteDisney is King Midas in reverse. Everything they touch turns to s**t.
ReplyDeleteI know, did you see what they did with infinity war? Deadpool? Mandalorian?
DeleteBack to Canon, discard Disney and Woke agenda from StarWars.
ReplyDeleteI know, the woke anti fascism of the original trilogy should be written out.
DeleteGiving Lesley Headland 22mill per episode was definitely a mistake.
ReplyDeleteThankful for the cancelation. 🙏💜
ReplyDeleteNo it’s not a mistake…
ReplyDeleteThanks for your honest opinion, THIS IS THE LAST ARTICLE THAT I WILL READ OF YOU, have a nice life
ReplyDeleteIt sucked and the main character even said it’s not about Star Wars. It’s about woman empowerment.
ReplyDeleteA huge mistake? Ain't that a bit of stretch?
ReplyDeleteno it´s not a mistake. this was a bad show.
ReplyDeleteIt was a mistake to begin with. You cannot make the same mistake twice, otherwise it becomes a choice.
ReplyDeleteThe huge mistake was to produce it in the first place
ReplyDeleteWho said it was a mistake?
ReplyDeleteIt was great, and just like every SW story, a little flawed but still dope. Cry babies like, "gimme what I want wahhh". It should be continued.
ReplyDeleteIt was over for me when they killed Trinity
ReplyDeleteThe writing for the series was pretty mid at best. Blaming homophobic or racist motivations for hate of a slow moving and redefining series that was dotted with dei references? No. It was the script. Can’t just throw lightsaber battles on the screen and expect a hit.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the first season was boring, the set looks cheap. But the last scenes gave me hope for an interesting 2. season. But now...
ReplyDeleteAll these series are mistake! Except for Kenobi
ReplyDeleteSorry, my bad... I think they noticed I never got around to watching the last 3 or 4 episodes, and must have figured, why bother... 🙁
ReplyDeleteThe making of the Woke"o'Lyte was a huge mistake
ReplyDeleteGood. Hope, they invest their money in something worth watching.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you can't see that they made a crappy product is mind blowing. Bad writing bad acting but it did have a lot of potetial. These are people that should not be making Star Wars.
ReplyDeleteBroadcasting it was the actual mistake.
ReplyDeleteMaking it was the mistake
ReplyDeleteOf course woke Mashable is not amused about it 😄
ReplyDeleteNo, Belen Edwards, it's not!
ReplyDeleteMost people agree it was a correct decision. But at least we know where you stand Mashable
ReplyDeleteIs the writer Belen Edwards worked for DEI companies?
ReplyDeleteGet Ryan Reynolds or Bryce howard to direct and handle this
ReplyDeletehttps://giphy.com/gifs/QeOvvuF70Vu6PdMyz3
In future give the fans what they want. It’s called listening Disney
ReplyDeleteMajority still rules. As it should be
ReplyDeleteNo, no it isn’t.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance
ReplyDeleteMaking it to begin with was the mistake
ReplyDeleteLet’s get some new ideas Disney.
ReplyDeleteThe neckbeards have spoken.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha why? It was awful
ReplyDeleteMaking the first season was the biggest mistake
ReplyDeleteWoke virtue signaling that managed to weave a plot around itself isn’t SW.
ReplyDeletesays who?
ReplyDeletesays Disney dipshit.

DeleteCreation of Acolyte was a huge mistake for Star Wars
ReplyDeleteIt’s horribly written show.
ReplyDeleteIt was a terrible show
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't been cancelled, media are reporting without any facts AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteI liked it! It’s unfortunate that they gave up on this. Def a mistake to cancel.
ReplyDeleteStar Wars belong to the 70s. It's time to move on.
ReplyDeleteIt was a mistake to start they trainwreck in the first place.
ReplyDeleteHow about another season of Boba Fett
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteNo it wasn't
ReplyDeleteHiring those idiotic directors and producers was the mistake.
ReplyDeleteGo woke, go broke.
Again this post?
ReplyDeleteHALLELUJAH!
ReplyDeleteyes yes it was a awful forced uneeded story
ReplyDeleteunrealistic unbelievable joke
Star Wars fans have become their own worst enemy.
ReplyDeleteNo mistake ! Disney needs to stop making star wars shows and films full stop !
ReplyDeleteIt bombed. Why not cancel. Simple. The numbers all came in.

ReplyDeleteThis show tarnished the legacy of The Chosen One, the Jedi, and Wookies, just to identify some of its glaring deficiencies. Not only should there never be another season if Acolyte, but it should be wiped from canon.
ReplyDeleteDisney+ caved in to bigots who just couldn't stomach a women and minority led Star Wars show.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.facebook.com/DisneyPlus
what about Ahsoka? The entire Star Wars franchise is about different walks of life throughout the universe. The show had some merit (for me the choreography was 🔥) but it definitely felt like it was missing something.
DeleteSelling SW to Disney was a huge mistake.
ReplyDeleteEverything else is just the natural sequel of events.
That suxks. I like it. Can make some improvements if needed but other than that it should stay on. Disney never miss the opportunity to disappoint me.
ReplyDeleteGreat decision . Your whining only proves it.
ReplyDeleteWhite male fragility is textbook cancel culture.
ReplyDeletecry more.... your personal fragility is amusing.
DeleteWhite people hate it
ReplyDeleteAs long as there's no straight white men, Disney will make it.
ReplyDeleteNo, it isn’t
ReplyDeleteAwesome news. Go woke. Go broke.

ReplyDeleteNaaah!
ReplyDeleteAcolyte was a mistake
ReplyDeleteLet the acolyte die.
ReplyDeleteI really liked it! I think it would have been more powerful if the series included the perspective of what happened through the mother’s point of view. That the best part of the Star Wars stories - it’s all point of view.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you there. The story of safeguarding the children may have added another human (accessible) element to it.
DeleteIt was a great show.
ReplyDeleteWatched it with my kid and it was a perfect transition to the more mature side of Star Wars.
And finding out about the genesis of the star wars universe felt like it would be a really deep storyline.
There's obviously loads of universe to play with
Yeah, I liked it quite a bit. It was much more interesting than the recent trilogy. Sad to hear this.
DeleteI gave it a shot but it wasn’t very good. I had high hopes but writing/storyline wasn’t very believable. the Mandalorian and Ashoka were somewhat disappointing too. I’m not sure where the Star Wars franchise is heading but they’re not very consistent these days. Gone to the well too often and not enough good ideas remain.
ReplyDeleteIt looked good with some great lightsabere dual but I wish Disney would hire proper Star Wars writers.
ReplyDeleteThe writing was atrocious. And honestly, at 23 MILLION DOLLARS PER EPISODE it should’ve looked a lot better
Deletedidn't Godzilla Minus One cost less? I'm sure this is a stunt to crash Disney shares.
DeleteActually, this is one thing Lucasfilms got right. They can’t all be winners, and at least they recognized that and moved on to something else.
ReplyDeleteAndor for me
DeleteMaking The Acolyte was a huge mistake for Star Wars 😂
ReplyDeleteTruer words were never spoken.
DeleteIt just wasn't very good. I really wanted it to be. However, it wasn't well written, the plot wasn't compelling and some of the acting and SFX were beyond wooden.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not! The show was horribly written and so woke even the woke people didn't like it. We didn't come to Star Wars for all that mess. We just want Disney to stay in the realm of the SW universe that's it.
ReplyDeleteThis sith was great. The jedi here were also excellent and died too soon. I really don't like cancelation before resolution of the story.
ReplyDeleteexcellent?? They made the Jedi a bunch of incompetent losers.
Deletethey were overconfident, and importantly non Skywalker.
DeleteDid you like the original trilogy?
Delete4,5,6 were great. Star wars is a full universe which means we have non Skywalker stories which can be told. We just need writing, and projects that explore that space. See Andor for another example of non Skywalker stories done right.
DeleteYes, I love Andor. The Acolyte portrayed the Jedi as....well, lame.
DeleteIt was a horribly written show that had brief moments of excellence. They could have given it one more season to flesh out the sith character—but other than that, it wasn’t very good compared to Andor or Ashoka.
ReplyDeleteAnd at a cost of $180M, it sure as heck didn’t look like it. Where did that money go?
NGL wasn’t that bad. I think it went a bit too quickly and too shallow to grow any emotional attachment to it.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know what the ultimate solution of appeasement between a hypercritical fan base and casual watchers is at this point, but they did something right with Mandalorian, Andor and Ahsoka.
It literally didn’t feel like Star Wars. It was terrible. The characters were poorly written and it was just blah. Almost as bad as the Last Jedi.
ReplyDeletebecause the Skywalkers weren’t in it? If you a fan und know everything including EU you would know it felt absolutely like SW, but you’re only the next casual.
DeleteI read all the EU. I didn’t need any Skywalkers in it. I’ve played every Star Wars game EVER! Nothing in this show was true to what Star Wars is. The writing sucked! The characters were just blah! So bad. I don’t need Skywalkers to like Star Wars. I’m the most die-hard Star Wars fan you’ll ever know. The show didn’t work because Headland doesn’t understand Star Wars and doesn’t want to. Just like Rian Johnson didn’t understand Star Wars!!!
DeleteThank you!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
DeleteThe Acolyte felt like SW, because it was. It felt rushed at times, but overall the story was fun and different, which is what the lore needs, and is built on. Let me guess you didn’t think Asoka was just like the animated series? Bare minimum The Acolyte gave us and interesting set of new characters, an amazing new villain, and some of the best light saber sequences we have ever seen. But for some reason even those that dislike the show refuse to give it the respect for aspects the show earned.
DeleteIn summary, I think you know SW but I don’t think “understand” it at all. 😂
Not worse than The Phantom Menace though
Deletethe Phantom Menace is better than the Last Jedi.
Deletenow if we can just keep on telling Disney how it is maybe the Actual movies will get better they need to retire Rey and they totally messed up Luke for me in that last movie adding comedy didn't help either.
DeleteThey had a lot to overcome with world building a new era for the first time in live action. They did have e to deal with a lot of toxic fans as well. But overall it died because the acting was comically bad and all around not good in any way.
ReplyDeleteTotally looking forward to seeing the rest… I saw two episodes, and kinda liked it, it felt like Star Wars, now it feels like it doesn’t matter.
ReplyDeleteThe premise was interesting, but it just seemed poorly written. Acting in particular was just awful, but with no content, it would seem to be a tough execution for any actor. Almost as bad as Reva Sevander in Obi-Wan Kenobi. 😂
ReplyDeleteIt was a mistake from the get-go. Hopefully, they will create better shows from this generous universe.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they realized that they could expand and provide better quality in Andor.. u can't continue to water down the market as well, too much of a good thing and all that
ReplyDeleteThe show was laughably bad and full of contempt for Star Wars and SW values.
ReplyDeletewhat are star wars values
DeleteNo it was not.
ReplyDeleteCreating the show was a mistake.
Getting rid of it was a great decision
No, it isn’t! It was bad. Not because of the actors but because the writing was incredibly bad. If they want to keep it they need a new writing team and new runners.
ReplyDeletereally? the quiestion is if is it a mistake? xD
ReplyDeleteIts not a mistake if nobody watched it
ReplyDeleteThe fans have already rendered their verdict on what the mistake was
ReplyDeleteDisney's tactic of always blaming the fans (their costomers) for their bad writing must stop....
DeleteIt was cancelled because it was losing money and losing important viewers ..
If they write better stories they will have success...
This "was" a well established Franchise, with a huge fan base... The fact that Disney's version of Star Wars does not work is Disney's fault, and not the fans...
Outstanding news!
ReplyDeleteBest news from Star Wars since the awfully written, scripted, and directed series began. Worst production since the Sequel Trilogy and X-Mas Special with a $22M per Episode price tag.
Never felt like a Star Wars story but definitely felt like a Kathleen Kennedy production. Glad it's over. Best thing for the brand is to make non canon like Star Wars Visions and move on in a direction that builds continuity with what came before, respects canon, and finally leads like all the games, novels, comics, and animation have been doing.
Productions like Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Andor are more the way. Skeleton Crew with the Goonies meets the Last Star Fighter vibes is much better grounded story telling then the cluncky messy nonesense just experienced.
This article misses the point: most people (including me and everyone I know) thought this show was poor, which is why it had low viewership, which is what led to its cancellation. Disney backed the show, so I’m sure they would have renewed it… if only it had enough viewers. 🤷🏻♂️
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't have been the least viewed Disney Star Wars show if it was worth watching, the target audience didn't even stick around to see the series throughout. $180 million is a lot of money for a show that only cracked the Nielsen streaming ratings for 3 episodes and now everyone is all upset about it. Bob Igers corporate accountant has spoken, they sending the Acolyte off to the Willow universe now!!
ReplyDeleteDear God. What a disaster Star Wars has become.
ReplyDeleteMost people hated it with all their guts. How can it be a mistake ?
ReplyDeleteThe show was so disappointing it didn’t include any vegan Jedis or a vegan theme. Also lacking aliens like the Oompa Loompas, poor inclusivity indeed 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteI feel like you guys write articles to troll people lol CLEARLY the metrics around the show were awful and then the show’s producers/ execs rile up the fans … lol what could possibly go wrong? I watched a couple of episodes.. it was bad …
ReplyDeleteThe author does have a point here, true fanaticals will take any level of crap and still cheer for "their" show. Anyone who is the least bit critical is not a true fan, period.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it is that true-fan lack of objectivity that leads to the delusional verbal diatribe that is this article.
Nobody watched the show because it was objectively crap, deal with it, move on.
This was the best thing they have put out in some time. Very disappointed to hear they canceled it. I look forward to more k.o.t.o.r. based content
ReplyDeleteI disagree... This show wasn't good and canceling was the right choice!
ReplyDeleteIt was the right thing, to cancel.
ReplyDeleteIt was seriously the worst of Star Wars. So many plot holes.
ReplyDeleteMaking these show is the worst thing that happened in the star wars universe because it breaks everything
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteIt was canceled??!!??
ReplyDelete
