Are storms getting scarier? We have a LOT more moisture (7-12% more) and heat in the environment today (especially ocean temps), but wow, to go from tropical status to CAT5 in just a couple of days is terrifying. If I had a home in Florida, it'd be up for sale right about now. We live in Georgia north of Atlanta and Helene just sailed by right next to our city.
