Disney's 'Raya and the Last Dragon' first trailer is gorgeous
The first trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon has finally arrived, giving us a good look at Disney's upcoming animated film.
Set in the fantasy world of Kumandra, Raya and the Last Dragon follows the titular warrior Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) as she sets out on a journey to find the last dragon. The evil Drunn is threatening her home, and Raya needs the magical creature's help to save it. Unfortunately, transforming water dragon Sisu (Awkwafina) needs a little help herself.

Moana, is that you? :|
ReplyDeleteis from the Moana producers
DeleteLet's all support this in all the ways we can so Disney keeps making original movies instead of remakes! This actually looks so good, I'm EXITED!
ReplyDeleteNooooo...I love remakes...especially Princess remakes
DeleteCuz we need more Princess movies
Deleteyes, we need more GOOD princess movies, like Raya will prob be. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see ;)
Deleteif you think that disney focusing on remakes is a good thing, you are objectively wrong
DeleteIf Avatar and The Dragon prince had a baby, it would be this
ReplyDeleteGood one ;D ;D ;D ;D
DeleteFINALLY SOMETHING NEW AND ORIGINAL
ReplyDeleteNew yes. Orginal...not so sure about that
DeleteHave you ever seen Avatar: The last air bender or Avatar:The legend of Korra
DeleteAnyone else hear Katara?
ReplyDelete"Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony.
But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world"
incase no one knew this already, Kelly Marie Tran will be voicing Raya.
ReplyDeleteDoes that really matter Who voices her? as long as she does a good job
DeleteOk, I know there's a lot of jokes about plot twists of her/a relative being the dragon but can we agree that it's nice to finally get a break from sequels/live action remakes
ReplyDeleteMaybe the dragon is her mom
DeleteTbh yeah
DeleteI saw like 3 or 4 remakes last year and this year, still like Maleficent Flow (ik it's not like a Remake)
Love Kelly Marie Tran. Glad to see she's still getting work, and that Disney has decided to make her a princess!
ReplyDeleteI think this is the kind of "Diverse" characters we need, not Remakes or putting it on other franchise who looks for one specific folklor Just for being "correct".
ReplyDeleteCuz the thing its about IDENTITY.
Don't mess up, Disney.
It’s a fictional world so that means every single character will probably be asian. So in their world, diversity will probably not be a thing.
Deletethats the thing, if you see, its a specific folklore, being a World different of Earth or not.
DeleteIts like Avatar, everyone its asian cuz its about asian culture... And on map, its not the Earth.
Cuz its very weird watching People saying Frozen its to White when its scandinavian folklore.
Can't wait to see this! My daughter is named Raya. She was a Disney girl growing up starting with Dumbo. A lawyer now and still a devoted Disney fan.
ReplyDeleteDisney: Hey, can I copy your homework?
ReplyDeleteThe Dragon Prince: Sure, but change it a bit so they don't notice.
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the dragon disappeared.
ReplyDeleteUncle iroh looks a lot more evil.
ReplyDeleteEveryone comparing this to Avatar before even realizing this copied The Dragon Prince from Netflix.
ReplyDeleteI like how they said “From the studio that brought you Moana” like dawg you’re Disney. Point blank period you don’t need any introduction.
ReplyDeleteI have waited so long for this trailer and I’m hyped for the film, it’s been so long since I’ve seen an original animated film from Disney.
ReplyDeletePLOT TWIST: It's a Post-Apocalyptic World and she's the Chosen One. Fallout 2 CONFIRMED.
ReplyDeleteI want to see historical ninja techniques on ythis movie.
ReplyDeleteNinjas are Japanese which are East Asian so you won't (probably) see anything remotely ninjas.
DeleteI like background music
ReplyDelete“From the studio that brought you moana and frozen”
ReplyDeleteBro we know what disney is...
Also it says “studio” not “people” so it basically means nothing other than budget
Any resemblance to Avatar the Last Airbender is mere coincidence.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Korra got some time outside Republic City.
ReplyDeleteDude I'm getting just avatar vibes from this hahahaha
DeletePlot twist: the dragon was the friends she made along the way.
