The official trailer for Netflix's long-awaited Harry and Meghan documentary is finally here and, um, wow.
The film was notably helmed by the couple themselves (who signed a major deal with the streaming company in 2020) and promises to tell their version of events that led them to step down from their official roles as senior royals. A move that's since been dubbed "Megxit."
"The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy," says Harry in the trailer, his words set poignantly to video footage of his mother, Princess Diana, who before her death, spoke out about her experiences during her marriage to King Charles III.
Across six episodes released in two volumes, the documentary (from Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning Love, Marilyn, Becoming Cousteau, and What Happened Miss Simone? director Liz Garbus) tells the story of the couple's early courtship, alongside commentary from family and friends — many of whom have never spoken publicly about the events that unfolded.
"I realised, they're never going to protect you," says Meghan in the trailer.
The trailer ends with Harry's words: "No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth."
Harry and Meghan Volume I is streaming on Netflix from Dec. 8, Volume II lands on Dec. 15.

Ok so , all the woman that marry into this family already have a good idea of what they are getting into ! Diama was young and most likely did not have much of a clue! Pressure , media attention having to conform to a royal life ! We as regular people don't have a clue either as to what goes on behind the royal doors ! We get a glimpse and that is it .Insiders that tell their side and what they supposedly see and here .
ReplyDeleteDiana's family absolutely did. Her sisters were part of Charles' set and her father was the late Queen's equerry. She was expected to be a brood mare and a clothes horse. The Royal men have a wife for duty and mistresses for pleasure. It's been that way for a very long time and if Diana didn't know her family definitely did.

Smdh I'm sorry that royalty is so micro viewed now. However I feel that's due to technology and capitalism are at blame not the "institution.". I think the pain and suffering of women should end. We as women deserve our rights alone. Even in a shared home without marriage we shouldn't be subject to an institution of poverty or segregation because our womb. We still have to fight for our independence.

She was also invited to stay with queen mother for several months before the wedding to be supported and prepared for life as Princess of wales.
