DOGE dividend checks: What Elon Musk said, how real they actually are.

Are DOGE dividend checks really happening? What to know.

  1. Personally, those employees that were let go for no fault of their own and have their lives disrupted, they should be first in line for the dividend checks--they can have mine. Those that have been terminated to appease DOGE are the casualties of this nonsense.

  3. "But that doesn't mean Trump and Musk-led DOGE won't try to make something like it happen as they seek to tackle inflation and balance the federal budget."

That's not what they're trying to do. They're trying to destroy the federal workforce to install an oligarchy in the long-term so billionaires can raid the coffers of the American public while Trump gets to stay out of jail.

But yeah. Go with "balance the federal budget."

    6. but in two lifetimes our national debt will not go anywhere. I never said you were selfish. I just said that if a $5,000 check was given to you, you can’t say it wouldn’t help you and that you would turn it away.

    7. but I don’t believe those checks are ever coming. You know they keep lying about all this money they’re finding and none of it being applied to the debt. They just wanna raise the debt ceiling and let’s not forget that $8 trillion he added to the debt when he was in office the first timehe’s nothing but a con man enriching himself and destroying our country.

      Delete
    11. Actually, Trump added twice as much as Biden and he’s wanting to raise a debt ceiling again but yet they’re finding so much money actually without any proof they’re just telling you that and you’re not even checking you’re just listening to your right wing news without back checking

    14. I will. His first presidency was good to me. I’m very financially well off so nothing he can do will hurt me. And I choose to be optimistic instead of dwelling on the “you’ll sees” and what if’s”. What will being upset change any of that in the grand scheme if I’m wrong?

      Delete

      Delete
    16. I mean, let’s be honest you aren’t wrong. But when dealing with politicians…whether on the left or right…both will try to keep everyone misinformed. Campaigning to be president is simple. Promise everyone what they want to hear then do none of it once in office and they can’t do anything to you. My hope is just that some of what has been promised will happen.

    2. so just to be clear you are okay with inflation increasing again as long as you’re getting money?

      Delete
    3. one it’s our money and it won’t cause mass inflation as you people think.. now if we spend 1trillion every 120 days like the president did (pretty sure you kept your mouth shut about that)… we will be getting 20% of the 2 trillion (if they save it) and the rest stays with the government. And it’s only to people that work… did you ever complain to all the wasteful spending before that didn’t benefit us. But you want to complain about them returning our money to us?

      Delete
    4. I want the president that has gone on and about inflation and lowering prices to actually do something that would actually do that. Not increase inflation further. I mean you can’t complain about wasting money when you waste money to fly Air Force one over the Daytona 500 and taking the limo around the track or with the constant trips to his golf properties that cost cost the tax payer just short of $4M per trip (bet you kept your mouth shut about that). On top of that each of these trips while spending your tax dollars also put money into his own pockets through the inflated rates secret service and other staff were charged during his first term. Seems kind of weird that a billionaire that “donated” his salary would be having his properties charge anything during these. And before you try and cite the inflated RNC claim that Biden vacationed more, he actually didn’t. Not to mention the majority of his trips were a short flight to Delaware. Those trips in comparison cost the tax around $500k

I think every American can agree we need to cut wasteful spending. But it needs to be done in a calculated and transparent manner. Just going in and firing tons of people (and then needing to rehire many of them because you’re incompetent and aren’t even thinking about what’s being cut) and just labeling everything you don’t agree with as wasteful spending isn’t the way to do it. Where are the actual auditors and forensic accountants that should be doing this kind of work? Auditing and trying to actually cut waste and fraud on an entity the size of the US federal government should take years. You don’t go in there with a highly partisan billionaire and a group of 20 year old coders and hackers and expect to do anything meaningful in a matter of weeks. That wouldn’t be a successful strategy in a smaller corporation let alone something the size and scale of the federal government. The auditor needs to be a neutral party. And while Trump is obviously free to cut programs he doesn’t like that doesn’t mean they were all full of fraud and waste. Labeling everything you don’t like as waste doesn’t make it so (just like labeling everything you don’t like as fake news doesn’t make it so. Seems to be a reoccurring theme). Also where are the receipts? We are just supposed to believe them. They haven’t provided much proof of anything. And to the contrary have been caught lying about their alleged findings. With how much lying Trump and musk do I’m general it’s kind of embarrassing how many people are just taking what they claim at face value. They claimed we sent $50m in condoms to Gaza. Not true. They inferred all these dead people are getting SS checks. Not true. They claimed they saved us $8B dollars on a contract they cancelled. Not true, turned out to be $8M (alarming their accounting of their alleged savings is THAT wrong). So yes, we should absolutely get rid of ACTUAL wasteful spending and any corruption. But actually don’t. And do it objectively and transparently. Don’t just go in there with a sledgehammer, an agenda and pre-determined claims and wild imaginations.

Also I got a bridge to sell you or you think you’ll actually get anything back.

  33. Any money recovered/freed up should be used to reduce the national debt

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. how does that work exactly? Do we force the people and entities to cash in their T-Bills or Bonds because that is where the bulk of national debt is. They could pay back the Social Security Trust to pay of a fraction of what has been stolen.

      Delete
    2. good question. I’m not sure, but if money is recovered (or not being spent elsewhere), then it makes sense that those funds could be applied to other areas. That would mean we wouldn’t need to borrow as much. Or, however it is that we pay interest on the national debt or principle, it is applied there. At a minimum finding fraud and abuse should decrease the federal budget. Reduction of debt seems a logical outcome with a surplus back in the account.
I’m a simple small business owner and understand business finances, not government. I look at it through the lens of a business and retained earnings.

      Delete
    3. the largest portion of the National Debt is domestically owned through T-Bills and Savings Bonds. The majority of Foreign Debt is also through T-Bills. That is where the interest people talk about comes from. I assume you know how T-Bills and Savings Bonds work right? You purchase them for say $100 bucks and after a set amount of time they’re worth $150( just using simple math the amounts and returns fluctuate). There is no benefit in putting money there. The easiest and best case scenario is refilling the Social Security Trust. After the domestic debt that is the largest single chunk of the National Debt. That is why the Republicans want to dissolve it. They could tell everyone “look at how much we reduced the National Debt” without actually having to pay anything.
