Tesla will deliver the first Cybertrucks today. Here's how to watch the event.
You might be compelled to pinch yourself, but we assure you, you are not dreaming: Tesla is actually about to deliver its first Cybertruck.
The company will do so at an in-person event in its Texas Gigafactory, but you can also follow the event online. Here's how.
What is the Cybertruck event?
Straightforwardly called the Cybertruck Deliver Event, it's a reveal that will be held at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. Details are slim apart from the obvious: the company plans to deliver its first Cybertruck vehicles to customers. Rumors say the company isn't ready to produce the car on a massive scale just yet; instead, a handful of Cybertrucks will be sent to the first customers, with Tesla currently producing about 10 Cybertrucks per day.
As for the car itself, it's a steel-plated, odd-shaped, electric SUV, originally announced in 2019, with production scheduled to start in 2021 before delays— the first Cybertruck was built in July 2023. Recently, we've started finally seeing Cybertrucks in the wild; for example, Tesla took a couple of them for a spin on an off-road track in Baja California.
When does it start?
The event is scheduled to start at noon P.T. (3 p.m. ET), on Nov. 30.
Where can you watch it?
The event will be broadcasted on X (formerly Twitter). It's possible that it will also be broadcasted on Tesla's channel on YouTube, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
Topics Tesla
While the design is very subjective as to whether people like it or not, I applaud doing something different with car design. All brands and models look way too similar these days. Haven't seen a nice departure from the norm since Dodge created its retro line.
ReplyDeleteThe long awaited day has finally arrived. I am looking forward to seeing them on the roads.
ReplyDeleteNope
ReplyDeleteWho cares, honestly...?
ReplyDeleteJunk,probably recalled before it's introduced.
ReplyDeleteThe garbage cans? Will they roll them off the cliff?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Elon can screw this one up too?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteThey could really fk this up and crash the stock...short term buying opportunity if...
ReplyDelete1. They don't release price
2. They don't release range
3. Price for beast mode is 95k (Buy a Rivian instead, available now, and better interior quality)
4. Range for beast mode isn't close to 400 miles (Rivian's max pack is over 400)
None of the other features matter to the regular consumer even though they matter to TESLA and technology progress.
Charging rate, 4 wheel steering, 48v architecture, exoskeleton bla bla,
Saw it this week, and after seeing it, I would not even consider a Rivian. Before I saw it, thought it was ugly and would have considered a Rivian.
DeleteCybertruck is the coolest & TOUGHEST truck ever made.
I think we are going to hear a LOT about charging speed. I think Tesla is going to make a big deal about being able to add 200 miles in 10 minutes or some such thing. I still agree that 400 miles (380 is close enough, 420 would be ideal and very on brand).
DeleteI'll have to disagree with parts of this. Charging rate, 4 wheel steering, exoskeleton may not matter that much during window shopping. But they will matter a lot for actual ownership experience.
DeleteI agree that too much of a price will put a damper on sales, at least long term. Initially there will be people who will buy anyway.
Zero chance any of your nonsense will have a basis in reality.
ReplyDeleteLet me book mark your post, and see who is correct.
DeleteI'll be eagerly waiting.
DeleteSend the stock back to $300+ so I can cash out... Then you can crash back down to $190 again.
ReplyDeleteWhy not just send you $2,000,000?
DeleteSure. Hand it over BLH!
DeleteThere better be cooler features to reveal: either better software, better battery tech, interesting structural qualities, something.
ReplyDeleteIf there are no surprise features and it's just a pickup truck Tesla with the unique look, that will be mega disappointing after years of build up.
Confirmed from previous presentations.
Delete1. 1000v architecture...charge to 85% in 10 min
2. 48v internal architecture vs 12v
3. Rear wheel steering
Big risks if they miss previous comments...
1. 500 mile range, anything less than 400 will be a big miss, and Musk can't say, "Well, you don't need that extra mileage 90% of the time." That's not how the market and people think even though it's true.
2. pricing...gotta be less than 85k for the beast mode version.
"1000v architecture...charge to 85% in 10 min"
DeleteSource ?
To be fair, all of this work will make the next small coupe a frikken beast. 300+ mile range, charge in 5 minutes, etc, but the market won't see that.
DeleteI think it was announced that it has HW4. That's new.
ReplyDeleteA modern day Edsel
ReplyDeleteTwo million reservations, 250,000/year. Do the math.
ReplyDeleteI'm betting that the large majority of people who made a reservation won't follow through... Let's see what the final MSRP is
